5.0 out of 5 stars Eternia WILL be mine!, August 13, 2002
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE SKELETOR (BLUE) ACTION FIGURE (Toy)
Awesome!! He-Man and Pals have returned and Skeletor is back with a vengeance with this new figure.

Fun: VERY! Skeletor just begs you to pull him from his package and play with him in the middle of your living room floor! His accessories and action feature invite you to play, play, play!

Educational: Well... it IS Skeletor. Umm... He once said that books were Eternia's greatest treasures... Okay. Skeletor might not teach your kids anything, but he IS Skeletor, remember? You might not want him teaching your kids anything!

Durable: Mine is in tiptop shape after three weeks of battles! Seems to be pretty sturdy, but that action feature can't last forever. Still, he is one tough cookie!

Articulation: Ball-jointed shoulders and hips, Twisting wrists, neck, and waist.
Action feature: Push-Button sword slashing right arm (this is one of the best action features that I've seen in recent toys due to the fact that it doesn't hinder display poses).
Accessories: Removable chestplate, Havok Staff, and two-part sword (the best part is that these weapons are actually used in the new cartoon!)

The figure has a super-detailed sculpt with nice little touches like battle stress on the outfit and intricate designs on the various pieces of armor. The paint applications are stellar (example: one of the little straps that hang from his belt is turned around {hidden from view} but the face sculpted on the strap is painted to match the others on the opposite side!).

Overall, this figure is very impressive! Seems to be sturdy, but some collectors have reported that the waists on their Skeletor figures is immobile or even broken. Some folks have attempted to move the waist and have broken the figures in the process. I found neither of these problems with mine. I would recommend gently twisting the waist of the figure to determine whether or not the waist is moveable. That is the only glitch that I have heard of as a detractor to buying the figure, but even if that were true of my figure, I would still have him sitting on my shelf where he sits right now! He is just so neato! I just can't help gushing over this figure.

Kids should really get a kick outta this guy as well. I don't have any kids of my own yet, but my nephews are absolutely drooling over these new figures.

I told my girlfriend (who rolled her eyes in disbelief) that these are the LAST toys I will ever buy. I just can't see buying anything else when these figures are so darn cool!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Root for the bad guy!, July 28, 2002
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE SKELETOR (BLUE) ACTION FIGURE (Toy)
I used to love this guy when I was kid. Skeletor was always kind of a fool on the cartoon, but in my mind, whenever I played with my Masters of the Universe toys, Skeletor was a true mastermind, a world-class villain on par with the likes of Ra's al Ghul, Doctor Doom, Lex Luthor, or any James Bond villain. Rather than just wrestle with a couple of beasties as in the cartoon, He-Man had to really work for his victories in my MOTU world, and he didn't always win. In my vision of Eternia, even the good guys experienced setbacks sometimes. Anyway, this new incarnation of Skeletor is at once an homage to a timeless classic, and a gigantic leap forward. While I'm not crazy about the new design of the Power Sword, Skeletor's double-bladed sword is pretty cool, and has a design reminiscent of the classic Sword of Grayskull. I've heard that originally, the new line was a continuation of the original, and that Skeletor had acquired both halves of the Power Sword. This design seems to indicate that. Either way, this is a brilliant redesign, and I have to say that Skeletor is my favorite of the bunch, and this is definitely the best-looking of the new line. Get one if you have the chance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Revamp Of A Classic Line, December 16, 2002
= Durability:3.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE SKELETOR (BLUE) ACTION FIGURE (Toy)
Well let me start this review out by saying that He Man was one of my favorite child hood cartoons. I used to wait in anticipation for the cartoon to come on everyday, imagine my excitement when I heard that a new Line was coming out as well as a new Cartoon.

On To The Toy.

Fun-I have always been a sucker for a guy with no face and a sword. This toy took me back to my old musty bedroom where He Man and Skeletor battled many times. These new figures are even more detailed and gasp they actually have different bodies. The accessories are great and add a lot of fun and detail to the toys. Although I feel that the color scheme for some of the accessories could have been dealt with a little better. I am of course speaking of the lack of detail in the paint job department on Man At Arms' Mace or Beast Mans whip.

Education-This is the real reason that I decided to write this review. I thought it was funny that someone would give these toys five stars in the education department. Ram Man he runs into things. Not the most educational toys but yet still have the potential to spark something that has little value anymore, Imagination.

Durability-The paint held up even while my Dog used Skeletors' torso as a chew toy. However when I applied direct heat to the feet Skeletor he lit up like a candle. As I placed Skeletors head in a vice and began to tighten down I quickly realized that "they just don't make em like they used to."

All In all, a really exciting and promising toy line...
