I have been using this light for several months now. It works fantastic. It is bright enough, durable, functional, and compact to make a difference in your ride ever time you get on. Really good on batteries, I ride for 2 hours a day and have not changed the batteries once.

When the time changed, it became essential in keeping these Northern Virginians from running me over; guess they could not see the bright neon yellow/orange reflective construction vest. I thought NY had bad traffic and idiot drivers - then I moved here to NOVA.

I am like the other reviewers here and I agree with what has been said. I thought I would add the short video in case anybody would like to see it in action. Each time I moved the bike forward and then applied the brake lever in order to activate the brake light.

It's a quality accessory and unique in that it is wireless. The led's are arranged in a pattern that shines the outermost led's to enhance visibility when it is viewed off center. It has four modes 1. off, 2. no taillight, brake light only 3. Flashing, brake light brighter 4. Steady, brake light brighter. It can be left in mode #2 to activate whenever you mount the bike. The brake light activates with an internal inertial switch. It senses when the bicycle slows and activates a bright brake light. I had to use a special mount to adapt to my Volae recumbent. Contact me if you are interested.

I do have one slight criticism. There seems to be a delay from the moment you begin braking to the time the brake light activates. This is not enough of a problem for me to change my rating because this is a unique product that solves the problem of running wiring. I will report any problems should they occur.

I wanted to add that this taillight/brake light turns on automatically when the bicycle is moved. I know another reviewer mentioned this. I actually rate this as a pro as opposed to a con. It's nice to know it's always working should you forget to turn it on. You can tell you have turned it off by a green indicator light visible through the lens from the top. So don't move the bicycle once you have turned it off and it will stay off.

I have had the brake/tail light mounted for several months and have found that what another reviewer found. The batteries discharge too quickly.

I don't complain about design quality unless it's an absolute dealbreaker, but the light housing is very poor quality on this one. Clearly not going to last long.

Other reviewers have mentioned that the light comes on when you hit a bump. The light is designed to sense a decrease in forward momentum and turn on accordingly but the sensor is so comically sensitive that riding over a seam in the pavement that caused the bike to raise 1/8" was enough to trigger the light. Result: It flashes on all the time with no discernible pattern between lighting up and deceleration. My girlfriend followed me in her car and reported that she could not tell for the life of her when I was braking.

If you could adjust the sensitivity of the sensor it might alleviate this problem, but you can't. So, in conclusion...

Cheap junk. Look elsewhere.

I needed a breaklight for my pedicab. Buying this was much easier than doing wiring. There was only one in stock, but I wanted 2.
Anyway it comes on for some bumps, but it has generaly performed as advertised. {edit from here.} This thing has ceased to function after 6 months. J U N K !

thought this would be a cool and hip brake light to get. works great when the bike is at a standstill and you move your bike by hand and apply the brakes. works just like the little video they show. but get out on the road and the little sensor in the light activates just about anytime it feels like it. sometimes it works and sometimes kind of works and other times it just randomly turns on. I bought two of these and neither one works at all the way it was advertised to. the only positive thing i can say about them is that they work great as blinking lights but as far as the braking indicator goes? Save your money..........wish I had.
