I have an iMac and when I received this scanner it truly was plug and play for me. When I installed it I had OS X 10.4.11 and have since upgraded to Snow Leopard. I love this scanner, my family loves the pictures that I post on Shutterfly.

Yes - but - download the drivers/software from Apple's Support Downloads and NOT from Canon. Throw away the install discs that come with the 9000f.

Mac Pro - 2.8Ghz Quad Core - 16GB running OSX 10.7.3 Lion

Canon tech services told me it would work. I have a 9950F which became obsolete the day I converted my 27" iMac to Lion. I hope the tech guy is right, cuz I need a new scanner badly.

Can I just lay an entire 35mm roll of film in a plastic Printfile right on the glass of the Canoscan 9000F and scan the whole thing? I want to make digital contact sheets from many rolls of color negatives. These are for reference, not for high resolution archival purposes. My old Canoscan 9950F will not do it. The scanning area is not big enough to cover the whole roll.
