MARINA is a woman of the new millennium: powerful, beautiful, dynamic in her roles as a top-charting dance music diva, acclaimed choreographer, and mother of three. This artist/producer is also a classically trained multi-instrumentalist (violin, keyboards, voice), professional dancer, trend-setter, and co-owner (with her husband) of an 11,000 sq. ft state-of-the-art TV/radio advertising production company in Midtown Manhattan, Kamen Entertainment Group/MRK Records.
From famed director Cecil B. DeMille's lavishly-appointed former office overlooking Times Square, MARINA and associate producer Tony Marinello (previously with Bobby O best known for his work with the Pet Shop Boys and Jellybean Benitez) are creating a high energy-world-friendly sound.
MARINA is a regular on the charts, with countless CD singles under her belt. In addition to her full length, all original, debut album "Um Lotty Da" & her full length cover album, "Under Her Covers", MARINA has produced the slammin club CD release of MRK Records "The Mixes". Also, check out MARINA's high-nrg fitness "Sing Off the Pounds" series available on CDs and VHS video tapes.
This blonde, feline-ish pop-songstress is an exception amongst her peers. She is not just a singer, not just a songwriter, not just a dancer, MARINA is a successful mother and businesswoman who morphed from 200 pounds into the dynamo she is today. Through fitness programs, weight control, and the miracles of modern technology, MARINA is as fit today as she was at 20 when she spent her nights dancing at Studio 54 and CBGBs. "In a lot of ways," she confesses, "the music I am creating today is reminiscent of the driving beats and irresistible hooks of the best songs from that period."
Marina started dance at 4, added violin and piano at age 7, and then went on to study opera and violin at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music. She pursued a career as a singer/dancer/actress, supplementing her income by teaching aerobics at Body Design By Gilda. She met her partner for life, recording engineer Roy Kamen, at The Music House, a major music/audio production studio in NYC. Soon the two launched their own studio, Kamen Entertainment Group, Inc., which opened in 1987. Over the years, MARINA has written, cast, and produced thousands of commercials, often doing voice-overs and jingles for companies including Snickers Ice Cream, Footlocker, Coty Stetson, Cherry Coke and VH1. This unique opportunity allows MARINA to work with some of the best studio musicians, singers, and actors that New York City has to offer. The best part is at the end of the day; she goes home to her three beautiful children, ages 10, 12 and 16.
