Yes it works in a car.
I bought mine to replace a dead factory radio. Interesting feature mix and quality finish. Nice crisp sound, even with old factory speakers. Stable, static free tuner and the digital media options are first rate. If you want loud, plug in an amplifier.
Blue illumination is fixed brightness and styling look is classic, not gaudy.
North America and Europe compatible, switchable station frequency spacing select. The iPod control cable connects on the rear so if you intend to use that feature have the adapter cable on hand at install.
DIN spec chassis but still surprisingly deep for a unit with no mechanics (need over 160mm + room for wires).
