MB1017 Reading Glasses w/Spring Hinge and Subtle Stylish Stripe

These glasses have worked fine for me, but the design in rather "old" looking. Also, the left side temple piece came off about a month after I got them. I found the screw and fixed them but the hinge is poorly designed.

I ordered these for my husband who has a problem with the construction of reading glasses, he finds them too flimsy. After having a pair we recently purchased at a warehouse store fall apart, we decided to give ordering them online a try. He really likes these, said they are heavier and better material than our usual glasses. None of them have fallen apart yet.

I had ordered some of these glasses last year and liked them a lot, especially the spring hinge. When I ordered additional pairs, it turned out that the seller did not have them in stock. They communicated repeatedly and helpfully until we sorted out the situation. I ended up with one pair of glasses, a refund for the other pair I had tried to order, and a promise that they will let me know when the glasses are back in stock.

Great product, as I was unable to find glasses with this strength in any local stores...unless I used the prescription and paid big bucks.

The frames are "fragile". I do not find them to be easily adjustable because there are no instructions for doing so, and I can definitely tell that most of the frame is "unsupported" plastic. When you have metal inside the plastic and you can heat the particular part up and adjust it. However, these have such thin plastic wings that I am uncomfortable "messing" much with them because they may be "memory" plastic that will jump back to its original shape. This frame is almost big enough for me, and since I only need this strength for short periods of time I am going to try to live with them as they are. TAKE NOTE: I have a small head. On adjustable baseball caps I always adjust them to the smallest size.

The glasses were reasonably priced and it is hard to get this strength reading glasses over the counter. The only downside is the size of the glasses. They are so small that they remind me of the 1/2 glasses that some people wear and look over the top of. I am not sorry that I got the glasses but I certainly wish they were bigger so I wasn't looking over the top of them.

Purchased 4 pairs quite some time ago, and they all have held up fine and work great. I find them stylish and comfortable, with springs at the temples to help them stay on. The hinges also allow for a better fit, and reduce the stress on the frames, which I attribute their long life to - other reading glasses have never lasted this long for me. For a medium-sized or large face.

Love the glasses. They are just what my eye doctor told me to purchase.

I buy a lot of these type reading glasses. I'm pretty hard on them and so far (few months) these seem to be holding up pretty good. No scratches and they're not bent. Thats what I'm looking for.

I've only had these glasses (I ordered two pairs)for 2 days, but I am impressed with the quality of the lens. They fit a bit tight, but I think that works to their advantage because they don't slip off my nose when I bend over to pick something up. They aren't handsome, and their style is old fashioned, but I don't care: I just wanted two pair of glasses, one to keep in the kitchen and one in the living room so that I always have a pair of reading glasses handy. These glasses serve that purpose well. I would not recommend these glasses for reading on a computer (I use an expensive pair of prescription glasses with progressive lens for working on my computer), but they are great for reading magazines and the small print on my prescriptions. The only remaining question is their durability: I will return to this report if they don't stand up to normal wear. And if they do prove durable, I'll buy another pair.
