I am so glad I found MBT shoes. I do not have full flexation of my ankle due to an injury and had almost given up on walking correctly. With MBT I can once again go shopping with my daughters without limping. These sandals are great and although they look clunky they are very comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone who has a limp due to an injury.

I discovered this brand 2 years ago and they have given me the opportunity to walk normally! Over the years I've fractured both ankles and have very limited range of motion in one them. These shoes allow me to walk without a limp! I also have other foot problems that were preventing me from standing for any length of time. The MBT's provide the support and cushioning that keep my feet from hurting. I've tried lots of other shoes made by MBT, but only this style of sandels works for my feet! They are truly wonderful shoes!

I had a podiatrist butcher both of my big toes 3 years ago and can no longer wear closed toe shoes. I am an avid walker and used to wear Keens all of the time. Then I find these! While they are a little pricey, they are very comfortable out of the box. The only problem I have is that my feet slip forward in them while walking. But my overall workout experience is incredible wearing these, you can feel your muscles working and your posture is greatly improved! On a sidenote, I wore them to the mall, and going up an escalator was hysterical, you have to balance!

This shoe was impossibly small, about a full size, which was an expensive shock to me. I had heard that MBT sometimes ran small but since I do not wear socks with sandals, I thought purchasing to the upper end of my normal size would be about right. I wanted these sandals for a vacation trip and was very disappointed to send them back. Also, as I had purchased them from an "Amazon partner" not Amazon.com, it was an expensive mistake. It cost me $13 to return the item to the storefront seller, "Heart & Sole." Beware of dealing with storefront sellers when purchasing a "fit item." The delivery was ridiculously SLOW, and then the return was costly. Only Amazon.com and Amazon Prime delivery for me.

I have been wearing skechers shape-ups, an imitation of the original, for 4 months and loved them. Decided to go with these because I dislike the look of the sandals in the line. Skechers require learning how to walk with the unusual shape which is actually identical to the MBTs. But...and this but is huge, the way the sole is weighted makes the walking automatic. As far as general statistics, 7 hours on my feet and nothing hurts. I cannot imagine a more comfortable shoe. Only problem is the adjustment, if needed. To move these straps takes effort, but then they do remain completely secure.

Over the years I have experienced a lot of sports injuries (figure skating), which had a negative effect on my hip joints and legs. I am a very active person, and have maintained the same weight (136 lbs, 5'9") for many years, but lately it has become quite painful to take long walks and even to lie down because of the constant nagging pain in my left leg (all the way from the hip to the big toe). I have tried several different brands of sport foot ware, which didn't help me at all, and finally decided to give MBT products a try. I bought 2 pairs: sneakers, that I have not worn yet, and sandals that I have been wearing for over a month. I do not mind that they look bulky and not elegant - some would call them ugly. I like the way they look: there is a certain rugged beauty about them, and they are extremely well made. The most important thing is that my pain was gone after one day of wearing these sandals, and, though I do not wear these sandals all the time - I try to wear them every day, I have not felt any discomfort or pain in my hips or legs for over a month. I had no problem adjusting to walking in these sandals because of my figure skating background (when one skates, one needs to put most of the weight on the feel and keep the nose of the boot lifted), but I wouldn't recommend wearing them when target shooting - you'll be rocking back and forth.

    Positive:

    1. True to size - I wear size 9 (women's), ordered a pair that is 9.5 (I tend to buy sandals half a size bigger, so that the toes have enough room in the front) - they look great, but, because these sandals have 3 straps to adjust the fit (1 for the heel, and 2 in the front of a sandal), I think, I would have been fine with size 9.

    2. Well designed and very well made.

    3.

While these might not be the most attractive sandals in the world (look like Teva sandals in a way) they are so so comfortable and effective. I own four pair of MBT shoes and sandals an have had them for 3-4 years now. They are the best and worth every penny spent. These were the ORIGINAL rocker type of exercise shoes. Everyone including Sketcher and Reebok has come out with exercise sandals ... even FitFlop. I have not walked in the Sketcher version but actually, I have felt them and tried them on and did not find them near as solid as my MBT's. I believe that you get what you pay for in shoes. Taking care of feet is vital to health and these shoes help to keep hips and back aligned.

I have facet joint syndrome, MS and other arthritic issues in my back and neck. These are just a great shoe to help maintain posture (they help you stand up straight) and take some of the pressure of the back and even the knees.

They take a bit of getting used to and they ARE exercise to use and will effect balance. If balance issues are a problem or if you have one knee that is much worse than the other (a seriously affected gait), these might be harder to use. I saw this with my Mom who is in her 70's and has a severe anterior gait with one of her knees. These were not an effective option and she prefers wearing Birkenstock sandals for over all foot health. After having worn Birkenstock sandals for years myself, the MBT's serve a more therapeutic purpose. They are nice and I really enjoy all of mine. I have both a tan and black Kisumu.
