5.0 out of 5 stars I'D STILL RATHER LISTEN TO HAMMER......
PLEASE make me understand: P Diddy is accepted, but hammer isn't ? An idiot that is proud of being shot 9 times (50 cent) is being idolized by youths, but hammer is ridiculed? Another rapper rapping about "sweat dripping down his ballz" is accepted, but hammer is wack ? Oh my god, when Hammer came out rap was still about fun and partying, not like nowa days where...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for semi-fans of M.C. Hammer
If you like the radio hits of M.C. Hammer, this is the CD for you. I am not the biggest fan of the guy so I never bought any of his albums. I've heard some of them, but they never did anything for me. I did like the popular stuff though... and most of those songs are right here on this collection. So help M.C. Hammer get out of financial debt and buy this album today!

Another rapper rapping about "sweat dripping down his ballz" is accepted, but hammer is wack ? Oh my god, when Hammer came out rap was still about fun and partying, not like nowa days where everyone wants to kill each other. I dont get how they can put down Hammer's style, when all Rap bands nowa days have a million people on stage fronting. Everyone used to put Hammer down cause he supposedly sold out and crossed over and all that, but all rap groups now do the same thing. And the only reason why the general public started to dislike him was because a few people in the industry didn't care for him, other than that you know ya'll use to love him...u know u had on your rayon shirts and a your zodiac shoes doing the hammer shuffle at the clubs. Hammer might have not had great lyrics, but at least he had amazing dance skill and entertainment. What do hip hop artist provide now? nothing more than hammer did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Here Comes The Hammer!, November 5, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: MC Hammer - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
It's funny how people could front on MC Hammer since he could outperform any rapper in the game. He always brings the energy on his tracks and he does it in a way that gets people from all walks of life to enjoy it unlike a lot of rappers today that make boring music that offend people, in my opinion he has more heart than all of them. Hip-hop is about peace, unity, and having fun so Hammertime is the epitome of that, I recommend you buy this and all of his albums, one love!

5.0 out of 5 stars FABULOUS ALBUM OF HIS CAPITOL HITS!, May 29, 2004
By
This review is from: MC Hammer - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
I thought that they made a terrific greatest hits album by MC Hammer! Loads of funky songs and inspirational numbers! U Can't Touch This and Turn This Mutha Out are still hot! I still like the heavy funk of "Too Legit To Quit"--I still blast that at 10 or 11 when it comes on!!!! They do so much in the rapid 5 minutes of that song! Hammer really dominated music for some 4 years with these songs and he did make an impact on rap at the time. He changed his style on the second, but he still kept it funky! And I liked Too Legit to Quit. Sometimes I felt that he did too many TV commercials, but I listened to his music the most. Would have liked it if some tracks from Funky Headhunter were on there, but this might have been done to finish out his Capitol Records contract. I hope that he makes more albums with all that dancing and big stage sets again, because he was ahead of his time with his approach! This album fully covers Hammer's success as an artist very well!

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD makes you move!, October 14, 1999

This review is from: MC Hammer - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This CD is full of serious dance music, that really gets you movin! Anybody that has an ear for a good dance beat can't not LOVE this. "Don't pass me by", "Pump it up", and "Gainin Momentum" are my personal favs, but the whole CD is loaded with slammim dance stuff! And if you have seen him move, and you know what good dancin is, your in awe. It is refreshing to hear someone thanking God in his music for his many successes. I am a white, 35 year old mother of three, (probably not the demographic hammer expected) but I know good music, and this is outstanding!

5.0 out of 5 stars Hammer's Gospel Songs are moving and uplifting. I want more, April 30, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: MC Hammer - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Hammer's strenght is in Gospel Music. There are one or two gospel songs on each cd and this is why I buy them. He helps me get my spiritual groove on and for that I thank GOD. His style makes me think of the old-time gospel singing in the south. I will get closer to GOD "by any means necessary." Hammer and I have church.

4.0 out of 5 stars music is what counts, August 5, 1999

This review is from: MC Hammer - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
enough about weak lyrics and all that , Hammer's music ( sampled or not )is just amazing and unnattainable to many . And there are amny rappers that have weak lyrics , just because they're about killing and women and are obscenities dosen't make them strong lyrics.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not the greatest, December 15, 2002
This review is from: MC Hammer - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This is supposedly Hammer's greatest hits. I have all of his albums and this CD leaves out a lot of stuff. It has nothing from The Funky Headhunter, which is his best album. The CD has a lot more potential to put more songs on it, but they decided not to. The only good thing about this album that it has the 5 min version of Turn This Mutha Out, compared to the 2:30 min version on Let's Get It Started. I reccomend just getting this CD used, its not worth the full price.
