As a former teacher in both private and public schools who is now homeschooling, I've seen my share of textbooks. The MCP Grade 3 is among the best worktexts I've ever used. It is geared toward the student, with easy-to-follow directions and plenty of practice for each concept. One of my favorite features is the arrangement of assessments. With a test at the end of each of the 15 chapters as well as alternate tests at the end of the book, I tend to use the chapter tests as pre-tests, only asking my children to cover the material in the chapter with which they're unfamiliar. Then I use the alternate tests as post-tests so the kids can demonstrate mastery. Get this book without hesitation...only, shop around, as price varies widely!

I have always loved this curriculum. It's simple and inexpensive. My kids learn what they need to and I meet all standardized requirements.
