This book condenses the material associated with the Microsoft 70-210 Installing, Configuring, and Administering Windows 2000 Professional exam into a neat little handbook to make your life easier as you prepare for the 70-210 MCSA/MCSE Professional examination. It presents only the material that is relevant for the exam, and eliminates any underlying "theory" material that is not.

When using this test preparation tool, you must remember that we have provided only the information necessary to pass the examination. What does this mean? Well, it means that you should pass the test, but may not have a detailed understanding of the subject. 'Ideally, the people who should use this book are those who are already working with Windows 2000 Professional, but haven't passed the test yet. This book will provide you with the exam-specific knowledge to successfully take the test.

On the other hand, getting an MCSA/MCSE certification will open many doors to you that were previously closed. If you don't have any experience, but you want to get into the IT field, you may want to use this book to challenge the exam, and then try to get the job that you want. Afterward, you should be able to get the experience needed to keep the job through on-the-job training.

Don't worry if you feel like a "paper MCSA/MCSE." Put first things first—pass the test, then go out and get that 30-pound technical book to help you prepare for the real world. After all, how does anybody get experience with operating systems and networks if they are not given the opportunity to try? HOW TO USE THIS BOOK

You might ask yourself, "How do I use this Pass IT book?" Well, the explanation is simple. We have designed this book for anyone to study and take the 70-210 examination. We provide you with exam-specific pointers throughout the text.

First, review the chapter objectives, and then read the chapter. Go back to the chapter objectives to see if you can remember the material covered. Then, read the chapter again. The more times you expose yourself to information, the better chance that it will remain in your long-term memory.

Each chapter begins with an introduction that basically takes the objectives and defines them in easy-to-understand terms. As we discuss material, you may see some of the information highlighted in bold italic letters with an "*" preceding the information. Pay very close attention to this information: The likelihood of seeing it on the test is very high. Not only do we highlight the really important information, but we also place this information in what we call "Exam Tips". Exam Tips are just that—tips to pass the exam. Sometimes we also include Notes to help you further understand the information.

Most chapters contain special Challenges that simulate the types of situations that Microsoft likes to use in its exam questions. Solutions for these Challenges are provided at the end of the chapter.

Finally, we have created questions at the end of each chapter to jog your memory. These are important questions because they concentrate on the subject areas that are tested on the 70-210 MCSA/MCSE Professional Examination. The questions are only samples that closely resemble actual test content. This book is accompanied by a comprehensive 70-210 Professional test bank that is sealed on the back cover of the book. The CD testing material was developed to simulate the MCSA/MCSE Certification Exam testing process and contains materials that will enable you to complete practice tests, determine your weak points, and study more strategically. I purchased the Professional book one month ago.....I tested out after two weeks. I then bought the Pass-it Server book and tested after one week. The author isn't Charles Brooks but a guy call Dively. I'm on a roll. I have just purchased the Pass-it CCNA and I hope this author kept his same style. I just found out that there is a Windows 2000 Infra out by the same guy...I'll talk the CCNA first and then if I pass I'll see about that book. Keep up the good work Mr DIvely.

I purchased this book on Monday and tested out on Friday. This book had all the required subject areas to take the test the first time. I also purchased the 2000 Server book called PASS-IT. I studied the Server book for two weeks and also passed the test after the first try. I wish this author would keep them coming.

This is my first MCSE test and this book was the only book I used. I do have 2 years as a Windows 2000 Administrator, but I'm not good at test taking. This author did a fine job condensing the book to a point that I could get my MCP in one try. This author has another book that I will try for 2000 Server that I just purchased today. I'll let you all know if he continued to help me in my quest.
