Jeansonne does not just focus on the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification as the title of this book implies. In these pages, you'll learn about several career tracks in addition to MCSE, including Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Product Specialist (MCPS), and Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT).
Unfortunately, the rundown on each certification is minimal. There's little information about what you'll need to know for the exams, and the author doesn't even outline the tests you must pass to achieve each rating. Instead, he provides general platitudes about how great it is to hold a Microsoft certification, interspersed with interviews with actual professionals. Aside from that, this book contains mostly commonsense career advice ("Read technical journals;" "Go to trade shows"). If you're serious about a Microsoft certification, this book won't help you much.

Interesting, but pretty shallow.,
By A Customer
This review is from: MCSE Career Microsoft®! (Paperback)
While this book provides a decent description of the different certifications and general job functions, it does little to educate the reader about what is actually needed to become certified. As the title suggests (exclamation point and all) this book serves primarily as a gratuitous cheerleader for the joys of joining the Microsoft fold. Use it to explain to your spouse or parents what it is you want to do if you need their support.

IT REALLY DESERVES ZERO STARS,

This review is from: MCSE Career Microsoft®! (Paperback)
The most amazing thing about this book is that it is still offered for sale! It was just extremely weak when published. Now it has the distinction of being extremely weak AND completely outdated.
