I am a fan of the Test Success series. They have been good for me. Until this one. Today I got a score of 933 on the TCP/IP exam, mostly because I ingored the direction this book would have taken me. Don't be lulled by the other useful books in this series.

This is a very good book to prepare you for the TCP/IP test. I spend one full month on this book and "TCP/IP for NT SERVER 4 Study Guide third editon" from SYBEX. The result is a testing score of 965. I am very happy about these two books.

You should not solely rely on this book because it does not give you a lot of explanations. The purpose of this book is to help you to learn what kind of questions might appear on the test. You need a study guide to help you also.

By the way, I believe it is very important to have at least two computers to practice networking. It is not an good idea to just read books cover to cover.

This book is bad. I used cybex books to pass the NT core exams (networking essentials, NT server, NT Enterprise, and NT workstation) and loved them. This one is awful, I think Cybex should refund my money.

Having used 4 other test success books this one is quite bad. The first chapter on subnetting is awful and has some very simple mistakes. I suggest looking elsewhere. Read more
