Good TCP/IP summary, Poor IIS 4.0 Coverage, December 9, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: MCSE Mcp+i Training Guide Internet Exams (Hardcover)
I took MS IIS 4.0 exam after I read this book (among other resources). The coverage of IIS 4.0 is poor specially SMTP and NNTP. The test sample does not resemble MS actual test questions at all. There is too much emphasis on numbers (max number of concurrent http connection, default NNTP time out etc.) and other service parameters. MS exam did not include any question of that sort. If you are new to IIS you better off reading an in-depth book such as MS Press Running IIS.

Well organized, but many errors., May 21, 1999
This review is from: MCSE Mcp+i Training Guide Internet Exams (Hardcover)
The New Rider series is generally well laid out and a good summary of test material. In this case, however, the book is so poorly produced it can do positive harm to your studies if you don't have a good second source. If the numerous typos were not enough, there are specific errors of fact in important content, and erronious numbering of exercises and answers to add to your confusion. There are many more professionally finished sources than this one.

Authors' writing styles and other means of communicating information to the reader are very good. This books cover almost all aspects of IIS, TCPIP and it covers Windows NT well.
