Bad news for certification users,

I just took the Beta for this test, 70-222. This book did not prepare me for the test in anyway. I converted my NT 4 network at work last August, and it didn't even help with that. Do yourself a big favor and stay away from this book. Wait for the Transcender test and/or a Sybex study guide.

What a terrible book!,

The cover of this book says "For Exam 70-222" -- it doesnt even touch what you need for this exam! This book is a waste of time, and it isn't exactly the most well-written text ever!

Get the newer version of the book,
By John Day (Burlingame, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: MCSE Training Kit: Upgrading to Microsoft Windows 2000 (IT-Training Kits) (Paperback)
This book came out very early in the Windows 2000 feeding frenzy when all of the publishers were scrambling to get books out on the shelf. It was supposed to be a book aimed at the 70-222 MSCE exam, and came out during the time that the exam was beta. Unfortunately for those of us that bought the book at that time, Microsoft completely changed the test, including the name of the test (new name "MCSE Training Kit: Migrating from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to Microsoft Windows 2000"), and released a completely revised exam, thus making this book virtually worthless if you are studying for the current 70-222. To top it off, rather than pull back all of the copies of this book and shread them, they put a cheesy sticker over the spot on the cover that says "MCSE Study Guide for Exam 70-222" and continue to sell the book. If you are studying for the 70-222 exam do yourself a favor: buy the current version of the book "MCSE Training Kit: Migrating from Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 to Microsoft Windows 2000", ISBN 0735612390. It is a good book, and covers the proper material. Hey Microsoft! Please loose this book.

Not for 70-222,

The other reviewers have hit this one right on, particularly John Day. This book provides a good overview of how Windows 2000 is different from Windows NT, but it has almost no relationship to the 70-222 exam topics. The included CD is basically just the book in digital form - nothing special there, either. Do yourself a favor and start by checking out the Domain Migration Cookbook on the Microsoft TechNet website instead.
