There are several things I didn't like about this product:
1. The sections are numbered 1-4 instead of using labels like "morning" or "lunch."
2. The sliding pill cases are very difficult for anyone with arthritis to work. They only slide half way open to expose two compartments at a time.
3. If you slide off the container top all the way, the sections are numbered 1,2,4,3. It's hard to explain here but the numbering system and the top that only slides open half way are very confusing to someone who is elderly. If the alarm goes off and she goes to slide open the top all she sees are numbers, not the meal or time of day. She has to put together that if it's the #2 alarm going off then she should take the pills in the #2 compartment.
4. The alram startles my Mom. It goes off again if she doesn't hit the right button. After three times it just stops going off so if she's not in the room when it goes off those 3 times, then she misses it.
5. The compartments are too small to hold her meds and vitamins.
In general, i think I wasted my money. It's too complicated for a senior.

Love it!, April 15, 2004

I love this product. I take 5 different medications throughout the day and I'm always forgetting. This product allows me to fill the tray once a week and each day's medications are all ready to go. Very portable. The timer plus the slide-on medication case are small enough to fit in a purse or a coat pocket. The variable alarm allows you to choose beeping, a voice, or a silent (light flashing) reminder. This is the second of these I've bought. The first one died after two years of daily use (I also dropped it a lot). May not be a great idea for people who are easily confused or take lots of large pills. Each slot in the 4-slot case could probably hold 3 large multivitamins. You can also take case dividers out to get 2 larger slots. My favorite part is that it allows me to avoid having to open 3-5 pill bottles each time I need to take meds. Excellent product. I've been very happy with mine.

small compartments, January 29, 2007
the medication compartments are small. If you take many meds this is a serious problem. Given that those who tend to need this kind of devise also tend to take several pills several times a day it is rather impractical for the compartments to be so tiny. They cannot reasonably hold more than 3-4 pills each. Worse if the any of the pills are big there goes the entire compartment and sometimes big ones won't fit unless you reduce the number of compartments. Even when the compartments are reduced in number the size leaves much to be desired. The battery cover also falls off easily which can be bothersome. Yet I do appreciate the handiness of having something that can remind for more than 2 doses each day.
