This review is from: The MEGA-BOOK of Instant Word-Building Mats: 200 Reproducible Mats to Target & Teach Initial Consonants, Blends, Short Vowels, Long Vowels, Word Families, & More! (Paperback)
I bought this book for my 4yo son and he loves it. It does come with 100 mats, but it's just 50 mats with 2 versions of it, 1 side with letters printed on each box(for early learners) and the other side has empty squares for when children are capable of spelling the word w/o help and know them by memory. It has 2 blank(no pic) pages for you to personalize if you want to, 1 side is for 4-letter words, the other is for 5-letter words, plus it comes with a few pages of printable letter tiles with multiples of each letter, both upper and lower case. I don't plan on printing the letters just yet since my son already has plastic letter tiles, wich work just fine. The pages are scored but you have to be careful still when pulling them off the book. What I did is I just took off the consonant & vowel mats(ones needed for the moment), copied them onto light grey cardstock(not distracting like bright colored paper) and laminated them(centered them on the laminating pouch so I don't have to trim the edges), they look like something you bought already made! A storage tip for those ripped pages, I put mine on protective sheets on a binder(not an envelope) that way they're easy to pull & copy over n over again if needed, plus the edges don't bend. Good price & arrived in perfect condition!
