I highly recommend this device. The mosquitos hit my property early every year, and plague me right into the middle of autumn. I live in the woods, and lounging on my deck for the past couple years has been impossible without dousing myself in deet, citronella, or some other chemical applied to my skin. I've shopped consistently for an effective mosquito trap, and have read extensively about all the offerings on the market. In fact, I had saved up some money over the past two years to purchase the vastly more expensive, propane-driven Mosquito Magnet, which is made by a company based right here in New England. After reading about all the problems people have had with the Mosquito Magnet valves (and parts melting in certain cases), I went with the Mega Catch Ultra instead. I am very glad I did. It works wonderfully, and for hundreds less. I caught about 700 mosquitos in the first few days, and more than a thousand over the next week after that. It also got a few moths, but that's fine with me as that prevents them from getting in my house to eat my wool carpets and suits. The only problem I had with the device was that the UV bulb burned out within two weeks. However, I called the Sportsman's Guide, who was the actual vendor from whom I purchased through Amazon.com, and their customer service people were very helpful, promising that I would have a new bulb within the next 14 days. I am very happy with the Mega Catch Ultra, as my deck is now mosquito free. Better yet, I haven't even hooked up the CO2; the entire catch has been without the use of any gas so far (a tank of CO2 runs about $125.00 here in New England, and I'm saving my money for another Mega Catch Ultra).

I do not have stock in, nor do I sell the above item. This item works. I run it from 3pm to 9am each day. I have done so without a problem for 3 months. I live in Florida where there is a serious tiger mosquito problem. We have found the mega catch to be absolutely unbelievable. At first we didn't use the CO2. We caught a fair amount of bugs. With the CO2, we starting catching many more...and the vast majority are mosquitos. I can't say that the mosquito problem is irradicated, but I can say that at least we can go outside, enjoy the pool, BBQ, and not get 10 bites each time (in the middle of the day!). I would say that in the span of 3 days, I catch 100's of mosquitos. The real test will be in August when the problem is even more severe. If I can go outside without fear in August, then the machine has made a difference. If the website allows, I will re post in August with an update. I can't imagine that it won't be different given the number of mosquitos caught (no see ums as well)

Last season I had a Magnet that caused me so much trouble that ,after a lot of research,I decided to buy a Megacatch Ultra.It has been so easy to operate and is catching more bugs than the old machine ever did.I got a CO2 cylinder from Luxfer($95)and get it refilled at the local Praxair shop.It's been running four hours in the late afternoon and 3 hours in the morning.It catches more bugs in the bucket than I can count.I have convinced three of my good friends that this is the best trap to buy after they saw the number of dead bugs when they came to a BBQ last week.
