Works great for etching copper. I use it mainly for jewelry making, and I use allot. I was buying smaller ones at radio shack and it was just getting annoying because I wold run out and have to go to the store and get more and one bottle would last a little longer then a week. This big bottle is so much cheaper Then what I was doing before.

This product worked great to etch copper jewelry. It was very fast acting. It's a large container so it lasts a long time.

Be careful that you don't get it on anything, as it will stain, but it works well for etching brass or copper.

This stuff comes in a sturdy, light resistant bottle, etches copper like a boss, and is brown in color. Getting the required word count in for this review is harder than actually using the product. Just saying.

I didn't have much luck etching PCB with this stuff. With all the positive reviews, I'm thinking that this was a bad batch or old bottle I received. I suppose it's still possible I did something incorrectly which is why I still give it 3 stars and so many others have had success using it. I tried heating this up in a hot water bath while agitating often throughout the process. The results were that it kept eating through the resist while still leaving patches of copper on the board and took well over an hour. Went through half a bottle and three different attempts and decided to give up on it. I then used a muriatic acid from the home store (hydrochloric acid ) solution and hydrogen peroxide mix (acid to base always!) in a 2:1 mix(peroxide to HCl). It worked great and was very fast as well as much cleaner since it is clear (changes to clear emerald green after etching) as opposed to the nasty yellow staining of ferric chloride. This method is also renewable by adding a little more (cap full) of peroxide. Do yourself a favor and lookup the Instructable on this method if the ferric chloride doesn't work for you. As always, wear gloves and goggles and dispose of properly!

I bought this for making PCBs using the toner transfer method. It turned out to be incredibly easy. This product works exactly as advertised.

Works great for acid etching knives. I just poured it into a glass container and would hang the knife blades in the acid for about an hour. Take it out, dry it off, clean off the nail polish and sand away the dark color. It looks really cool and I'm satisfied with my purchase. It also seems like this bottle will do countless knives so it is a really good value.
