Best non-prescription product ever used,

This review is from: MG217 Medicated Tar Ointment, Psoriasis Treatment, Intensive Strength, 3.8 oz. (Misc.)
Have been using this for years and it is the best product on the market to control psoriasis or clear up any other rough or scaly skin patches with persistent use. It does not have the rebound effect that cortisone prescription cream does. Too bad the company does no advertising and one only finds out about this product by word of mouth.

So far so good,
This review is from: MG217 Medicated Tar Ointment, Psoriasis Treatment, Intensive Strength, 3.8 oz. (Misc.)
I have had psoriasis off and on for about 8 years. During this last year I had my worst outbreak. Both of my elbows were red and cracked. I started putting on Mg 217 and I noticed a big diffrence in a week. I am going on week two and my elbows look great. I can see that the skin is still a little thick but it is not red or noticable. I also have a patch on my knee about 2x3 inches. I have had this for over a year now. It has been so annoying all winter. Before the skin was really red, flakey, and cracked. Now it is pinkish, no flakes, or cracks. It seems to be getting a little better each day. I am really hoping that it totally heals it. Even if it just stays the way it is right now it is worth it. I will update in a month or so and let you know how it is going.

Best Tar Shampoo,
By Saxonman (Pleasant Hill, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: MG217 Medicated Tar Ointment, Psoriasis Treatment, Intensive Strength, 3.8 oz. (Misc.)
It's impossible anymore (at least in CA) to find tar shampoos that have more than 0.5% or 1% because most manufacturers have stopped making anything stronger. I have used tar shampoos for years to control my seborrheic dermatitis, but the ones with less than 2% tar just do not work and the other types of medicated shampoos (zinc and salicylic acid, etc.) work for a while, but don't really clear up the problem. After a lot of searching I found MG217. It has 3% tar and using it twice a week does the job. It also does not have a strong tar smell and it has a conditioner that leaves the hair feeling good. The company has been around for a long time, so hopefully it will stay in business.

This product is really helping my psoriasis. Without the side effects I have experienced from other treatment options. It does take a while to start working, however.

I bought this for my mother after I compared all the Psoriasis products on Amazon. I found Mg 217 Intensive Strength Medicated Tar Ointment for Psoriasis 3.8 Oz having the highest review start number by many people. So I bought it along with the shampoo , and another product by Mg 217.
My mother has used them for one moth, but there has been not even a tiny effect. In fact, the symptom has even turned worse, especially when she used the Tar Shampoo. After using this shampoo, she felt the itching and inflammation even got worse. I saw somebody wrote something like "you have to keep using it until there is effect". But how long should one stick to one product? 1 month? 3 months? 1 year? Psoriasis is very hard to be cured, and maybe other people will receive better effects after they use this product, but not for my mom. I gave 1 star for this product so that people after me won't all think it is THAT good.

Amazing product!,
This review is from: MG217 Medicated Tar Ointment, Psoriasis Treatment, Intensive Strength, 3.8 oz. (Misc.)
Thanks to the reviews I read here I tried to give this product a shot. I had used Psoriasin with so so results, I may not have used it enough to have received as good a result as this product, but when I ran out I decided to give this a try and this time I decided to put it on twice a day instead of just once. It has worked better than anything I have used in 20 years dealing with this condition. The two formulas are almost identical, so not sure why this one works so much better. The smell doesn't seem to be as bad either. I can say with certainty that it does work if used faithfully, meaning twice a day and not missing any applications. I shower at least once, sometimes twic a day and apply. After 2 weeks scales are gone, and my spots have faded to a light pink to where they are barely noticeable. I am positive with regular continued use the rest of it should be history soon. No side effects so far and I have been using it all over where I have spots, including inside my ears, and unlike so many products that work well in some areas but not others, this product has worked equally well in all parts of my body, i.e. elbows, knees, arms, etc.
Had a tough time finding in stores...Target, Walmart and CVS didn't have it. I found it at Walgreens for $14.99.

I bought this product for my daughter. She's 26 and has had Gutate Psoriasis for about 3 years and NOTHING helped...until I found this WONDERFUL ointment! She's been using it for 5 months now and it's AMAZING how it has cleared her psoriasis. She had patches over her entire body. The worst were on her elbows and chest...sore, red, scaly...but Mg 217 has completely cleared up the small patches. The larger, more severe patches are barely noticable and no more soreness, redness or scaliness. She absolutely loves it! Thanks Mg 217!

Best OTC for psoriasis,

I had been using a prescription rx for psoriasis on my elbows for a couple of years .. they never looked that good. Well, after using this stuff, the difference is amazing. While the skin is still itchy, they look soooo much better. I am shocked. The only down side is that the ointment smells a little, but that is a small price to pay. I love this stuff. I ordered two more before I was even halfway done with my first jar.

This is the only cream, since prescription cortisone, that has worked. Keeps my red, itchy skin smooth and comfortable.

I've been having psoriasis for yrs.and never knew that this product existed and gkad I had discovered this product here, I have psoriasis on my face/arms and w/in a month of using this product has faded my psoriasis to the point where it was smooth enough to cover with make-up and faded the psoriasis in my arms where I wore short sleeves on a hot summer 90 degree day. I had to try this since RX meds like Dovonex and Elidel were losing their effectiveness and had to rotate my treatments a bit MG217 won't "cure" but will successfully treat your psoriasis by fading them away and you will have to continue using it even when psoriasis fades because psoriasis will gradually comeback like with in a week if u get lazy about applying MG217.
