I use megaphones at a youth camp and have used four or five through the years. This one provides plenty of power and the clarity of voice is better than most of the other bullhorns. Unlike most, it does not have a trigger that must be squeezed to talk, rather it uses a simple on and off switch. Though I initially didn't like that feature, I got used to it and eventually liked it. The external microphone can be helpful, though it would be nice if the bullhorn had a clip to hook the microphone to (like some of the old Radio Shack bullhorns) when not in use. Without the clip, it's necessary to try to find a place in the pocket or somewhere to store the microphone.
On the minus side-- - The battery connection occasionally didn't work and the bullhorn on those occasions appeared to be dead. However, a slap the side of the battery compartment usually got it going again. - The strap broke off during camp. - At the end of camp I dropped the bullhorn and haven't gotten it working again. It may not be as tough as other bullhorns I've used.
