This review is from: Bratz Ice Champions- Yasmin (Toy)
My daughter got two of the Ice Skating Bratz for Christmas (Yasmin and Dana)Bratz Ice Champions- Dana, and loves both of them. They are essentially the same, just different hair, face, and outfits, but all the stuff that comes with each is identical. However, she loves pretending that they are skating together or competing against each other. The doll comes with a little stand that you can snap the skate into and then move a lever to turn her around and you can place the doll in certain poses that actually then make the doll assume various skating poses. It's kind of cool, but also a little too complex for my 5 year old. She can't remember exactly how to to place the doll's legs to make the rest of her body shift into place (and truthfully, I don't think she could be bothered), and she also has a hard time fitting the skate into the stand. I think this would be easier for a slightly older girl. Plus, you'd also think that in the stand you could put the doll and stand down on a table or floor and then make her spin, but it's not bottom heavy enough for that, so you have to hold the whole thing in your hand while doing it. It's a little awkward.
That being said, the dolls are beautiful and they really still are a lot of fun for my little girl, who really loves them. I would recommend them to anyone who loves Bratz and also to any little girl who loves skating. Lastly, the hair on these dolls is amazing! The styles aren't "sewed" in, they are really styled out of the hair. I wanted to do my daughter's hair like the doll because she would get a kick out of it, so I studied the hairstyle to figure out how it was done, but my daughter's hair isn't long enough. oh well. Lastly, I did rate the doll with a small amount of educational value because I guess there is something to be said for the skating poses, at least at my daughter's level. And I took away a star for durability because, although our dolls have held up so far, the stand seems a little flimsy and possibly easy to break since the doll seems to be a little heavy for the lever. I keep expecting that it will break if my daughter gets flustered and gets too rough with it. Have fun!!
