5.0 out of 5 stars Great for little boys
After having my third boy destroy our house I decided he needed something to release his energy on. This kitchen has helped! Since he is a small almost two year old, the size is great and his older brothers also enjoy playing with it. The style is great, not girly at all. I had to convince my husband that kitchens are fine for boys, and that he could use his tools to put...

I had to convince my husband that kitchens are fine for boys, and that he could use his tools to put it together. Overall we have enjoyed it, the doors seem to not shut all the way, however the boiling and sizzling sounds are cute. Its a compact size and fits wonderfully in the corner however it makes for not much space for storing food and dishes. The price is very good for Little Tikes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good product for little imaginations!, March 15, 2007
This review is from: Little Tikes: Side-By-Side Kitchen (Toy)
After visiting the doctor's office, and realizing how much my 23 month old son loved to "bake" cookies while in the waiting room, my husband and I decided to purchase a kitchen for him for his 2nd birthday. We looked around and this was the one that caught our eye. It wasn't too big, it wasn't loaded down with sounds and it was neutral colors...perfect for boys or girls. As soon as we put it together, it was played with until bedtime. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because it was a little hard to put together. My husband had to cut some plastic excess off before he was able to put the counter top on, as it was hindering the two pieces from being flush. He also had a hard time putting on the refrigerator door....hopefully that means that it will stay on! There isn't much room for storage, which is alright since we were planning on getting a plastic bin to put next to the kitchen set for all his food, utensil and pots/pans additions anyways. Doors are easy to open and sounds are easy to operate, even for a not-quite 2 year old (recommended age is 3+). I also like how it fosters his imagination, requiring him to make most sounds by himself (such as the running water sound, which he seems to have mastered). Overall, I found this product very durable and very entertaining, even for myself as my son and I can "cook" together!

My grandkids, Rheanna age 3 and Robby age 2, love this kitchen. I bought it for Rhea for Christmas and Grandpa put it together. Or rather he started and my son helped finish. Takes some umph to put it together but everything was on solid. It is roomy enough for the kids to play together without fighting. Rhea says, "I cook, he gets to wash the dishes." but doesn't take up a lot of space in her room.

I did a lot of research before I bought this. The biggest complaint was the time to put the kitchens together. This HANDS DOWN was one of the easiest things I put together for Christmas. My husband did have to come help me put the oven door on, but that was it. I put it together myself with just a screwdriver. I loved that it came with dishes and a hamburger. Overall a SUPER SUPER deal!

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun for my little one and not too big, January 12, 2010

What a fun little kitchen for my little girl to play with. She's having fun stirring the pot and pretending to cook the little burger in the pan. I like that this kitchen is not overwhelmingly large, and can be moved to different parts of the house easily. It was also nice that it came with accessories, like the burger and dinnerware. Putting together, as with most bigger toys we have purchased for our little one, was no fun. The screws that keep the counter to the base didn't work, I only managed to screw one in, the others it was like they were completely stripped or the holes were just too big. But it's still pretty sturdy, and we keep it against the wall. I'm fairly strong but needed my husband's muscles for this one. Overall I recommend this toy as a cute smaller kitchen for a toddler to play with. The current price I see here on Amazon is over double what I paid for mine though!

We didn't buy the most expensive kitchen on the market so I did not have the highest expectations, but my daughter (2 years) loves it!! It's perfect for her to stand and and me to sit at to play. The only thing is the oven door doesn't open easily, as it was very hard to put on, and the noise that the burner makes stopped after the second day, even though the batteries were new. Otherwise, great product for the price.

My Daughter got this for her 3rd B-day. She played with it all day on the first day, and that was it. She hasn't touched it since. Not enough storage, and the oven door does not close all the way.

My son's 4th birthday is tomorrow, Sept. 17, and he said he really wanted a kitchen. I wanted to get him a more expensive Step 2 one but he insisted he liked this one the best. (I think he loved the idea of the real towel) I just finished putting it together which was very easy but getting the oven and fridge doors on was a little annoying and they don't close completely u have to push a little to get them closed so I don't know if that will frustrate my son.....we'll see. In the directions it tells u to dab a little dish detergent on the the oven knob to make pushing it in easier, well I saved this part for last and had to use all my might to get the knob on! I don't understand why they can't just attatch the little knob when they making these but oh well. My son will be using this tomorrow and I'll get back with an update! I would also recommend u putting it together before your child knows u got it for them.

My daughter loves this kitchen. It doesn't take up much space, and it's affordable, but she has just as much fun with it as with any bigger or more expensive kitchen set.
