I don't know what everyone is expecting when they buy this doll. I happened to come across it while shopping and bought it for my almost 6 year old since she has been in ballet since she was 3. I thought is was cute. The music is sweet and its just a doll. I don't know why anyone would rely on ads to show you what it can really do. My major disappointment was the scrunchie that doesn't stretch big enough to get around your pinkie let alone around the dolls hair. Both of her sisters like it too. If you don't have commercial expectations of it coming alive, there is no reason it wouldn't be a great gift for your ballet enthusiast.

What a disappointment. My daughter (age 4) HAD to have this doll after viewing the commercial...and after only about 15 minutes playing with the doll, she said - I don't like this and threw it to the side. Meanwhile, my husband was using the box outside to change the oil in his car!! so I couldn't return it to the store.
What can I say, except it is a very dull, uneventful doll.
The ballet stand is flimsy (and the doll can't even grip onto it). My opinion: HUGE WASTE OF MONEY.

I purchased My Beautiful Ballerina for my niece after seeing the doll in a TV commercial. Well, Ballerina has absolutely twirled and pirouetted her way into my niece's heart! The "little dancers" are inseparable...they practice their dance positions while looking at the wonderful little book included with the doll. The book is very easy for my niece to follow and she just loves changing My Beautiful Ballerina from her practice outfit to her recital tutu and back again. The musical practice bar and mirror that are included add a lot of play value and keep my niece busy for hours!

My daughter loves the doll and the doll is pretty however...It isn't easy to make "dance" and the barre doesn't stand up nicely so she has been frustrated.

The doll looks really fun in the packaging but it really is hard to get it to spin and do any dance moves without it falling down. Also all you can do with the bar is press it and it plays music. The doll cant hold on to it or anything. It basically just sits there. Really not much fun.

My 6 year old ballerina was ecstatic to receive this for her birthday. Unfortunately this doll is not worth the money it cost to make it. You can not make your doll do the ballet positions. The advertising leaves children to believe she will dance for you. Not true, you have to make her pirouette and her feet have to stay pointed. The feet end up going flat, and she slips all over the place. The ballet bar requires batteries to play ballet music. Can I ask you? What is fun about a ballet bar that plays music when your doll won't even dance? This toy is a expensive dud. My daughter was major disappointed. It was played with for a total of 5 minutes, and will spend eternity in the bottom of the toy box with the rest of the expensive toy duds that seem to be commonplace anymore. If you are going to want a doll that is educational, playable, and keep your child interested, spend the extra money and invest in American Girl dolls.

I like this toy becuse it has a booklet that has ballet terms and positions, but the doll itself is kind of cheap. The hair plugs show, the legs don't bend, and she isn't THAT well made.

Looks great in the package and adds, but not worth the money unless you have a kid that just likes looking at her toys. Hard to work, doesn't dance or spin easily and an overall failure. SHe'd have had more fun with another barbie.

As someone who has always been obsessed with ballet and ballerinas my entire life, I was ecstatic to receive MY BEAUTIFUL BALLERINA as an early birthday present from my Mom. MY BEAUTIFUL BALLERINA is one of the greatest ballet dolls yet, as she comes with many fantastic accessories to add to playing pleasure. Young ballerinas will enjoy learning the different ballet positions along with MY BEAUTIFUL BALLERINA from her ballet book, and dance mat. They will also be excited to hear the beautiful music that pours from MY BEAUTIFUL BALLERINA'S ballet bar. MY BEAUTIFUL BALLERINA also includes a ballet bag, a rehersal, and a recital outfit, and a hairbrush. A must-have gift for your beautiful ballerina, as she will cherish MY BEAUTIFUL BALLERINA for years to come.

My daughter is 4 1/2 and loves this doll. She presses the bar to hear the music and gives a "puppet show" of the doll dancing. She really hasn't used the dance mat, but enjoys changing her clothes and dancing her to music. I've never seen the commercial so my expectations were never anything but a TOY. She plays with it and enjoys the bar and music and that's what's important. I would recommend this doll for any child who loves ballerina's.
