Product Description

Micro-Mesh is a unique cushioned abrasive capable of giving very fine & very controlled scratch patterns. The grits range from 1500 to 12000. The 1500 is slightly more coarse than a conventional 600 grit sandpaper & the 12000 will leave scratch patterns that cannot be detected by the human eye. Micro-Mesh abrasives can polish to an optically clear, reflective state or through the use of a more coarse grit, leave a matte or satin finish. Excellent product to use as a final rub for water-based finishes.

A fabulous product that does exactly what it says. I learned about it in a pen turning class. Purchased the 1500-12000 grit set to do a couple of holiday gifts last year and have used the set ever since. It turned my projects from nice to WOW! Even my dad who is an 87 year old machinist and knows a thing or two about mirror polishing was impressed. I am only an occassional wood working, doing only one or two dozen small projects a year, but the original sheets are still going strong, despite some significant abuse as I learned to use them. The only improvement that I could think of would be the availability of larger sheets or the lowering of price. It is a near perfect product if you want your small projects to have a professional, mirror finish!

This set of ascending micro-mesh sheets can produce really magical results. Whether polishing wood, plastic or other resins, I've found that I can go through the ascending grades and bring out a bright sheen, sometimes even glassy, without the need for another polish. And if you're looking to polish anyway, then this stuff will give you the perfect platform to start from. I've sometimes applied plastic polishes after finishing to the 12000 level, and the finished results are really remarkable.

The sheets are very pliable, so you can use them to do polishing in quite small areas, and they're washable too, which gives them a pretty long life-span. I work mostly on small projects, and the first set of micro-mesh I purchased is still going strong after a couple of years of use. Highly recommended for just about any project that needs a real shine to its finish.

I bought this product for use on my model car and ship projects. i often paint the car bodies with real car laquer and do not want to run that paint through my airbrush due to the smell and difficulty in clean up. Plastic models often have voids or other defects from the injection process that need to be filled or smoothed out and these make the work easier and more precise. After painting these are great for removing any swells or orange peeling that mar the finish and with the 12000 grit sheet leave a very polished finish. They are easy to clean, can be used wet or dry, and can be used numerous time. Great product.

I use these for sanding small projects made out of olive wood on the lathe. After sanding, the surface is so smooth that it almost looks finished. Highly recommended.

I bought a rather scraped-up and sun-faded guitar that played and sounded great. A poster on a forum suggested that I try this specific product to restore the finish, and since the internet never lies, I ordered this kit and stripped the electronics out.

I put everything in a bowl of soapy water, dusted off the guitar, and started working from the 3200 grit on up to 12,000. I worked each piece until it began sliding effortlessly across the surface. Once I finished with the final piece, the 12,000, I cleaned and dried the surface. I was amazed at the mirror finish that emerged. Even the unevenly-colored section where the previous owner had kept a sticker for a while had evened out to the original color.

The pads are very durable, and can be rinsed off and used again and again and again. After finishing the first guitar, and went and resurfaced another guitar that had some surface scratches. Just an hour of careful work and the finish was as good as new. It's a fantastic product that lets you return the luster of woods and metals without taking off too much surface or leaving swirl marks. A fantastic value.

These sanding sheets are useful for a variety of purposes. They had a very strong chemical scent when I opened the package, but that obviously doesn't impact the performance of the sanding sheets. I would purchase these again.

1975 mobile home's plastic sink counter top needed help. I removed the damaged top layer completely with acetone a little section at a time. Wet sanded with standard 400 grit, then only used (wet sanded) the next two finest grits of the micromesh kit. Created a nice shiny surface by again using acetone (very carefully).
