WHAT EVIL LURKS BEYOND THE WELL-TRIMMED HEDGES OF MIDSOMER…
The cozy villages of Midsomer County reveal their most sinister secrets in these contemporary British television mysteries. Inspired by the novels of Caroline Graham, a modern master of the English village mystery, the series stars John Nettles (Bergerac) as the unflappable Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby, with Jason Hughes (This Life) as his earnest, efficient protégé, Detective Sergeant Ben Jones. Guest stars include Daniel Casey, Stephanie Cole, Samantha Bond, Maggie Steed, Malcolm Sinclair, Ronald Pickup, and Simon Williams.

John Nettles made Barnaby famous. These episodes in a new package is perfect for anyone who's had not already bought the separate sets. Never a bad Midsomer Murder. It has been a TV hit since Noah loaded both the TV and DVD player. One of the greatest successes in British crime mystery series that has ever been produced, and it still rolls on. New episodes no longer have Nettles as star, but all of this mega set has him in the lead. There is a good supporting regular cast, and each episode has guest stars. High-profile stars beg to be killed or become a murderer on this show, it's been said.
Other packaged groups of the series: "Midsomer Murders-The Early Cases Collection", "Midsomer Murders-Barnaby's Casebook", "Midsomer Murders-Village Case Files", and now Mayhem and Mystery Files."

Subtitles on each episode, one per disc. Most Midsomer episodes run about 100 min. each.
Former set 13: 1 Dance with the Dead - Death by vintage automobile. Where's the girlfriend?

2 The Animal Within -- A missing old villager is not as strange as finding a visit from a dead niece.

3 King's Crystal -- Art glass workers possibly murder family rivalries.

4 The Axeman Cometh -- Music festival, Can Barnaby do his bit? Murder rocks.

Former set 14: 5 Death and Dust --murder related to an intended marriage between 2 older folk with children quite vocally unfavorable to the idea. See Stephanie Cole (Doc Martin) playing the former mother-in-law to the male of the pair. Rare 1 murder episode.

6 Picture of Innocence --has to do with shootings, digital vs film, even a camera duel, but the murders are identical MO head bashings, all by the same odd metal instrument. Well it is a part of a large camera of sorts. Barnaby becomes something of a suspect.

Love this series! From what I can tell this particular product is a compilation of series 13, 14, 15 and 16. The price might look a touch high but the product is definitely worth watching! Wait for a sale then snap it up fast!

Wonderful series to watch, will entertain you ! But the money you pay for it, you get really bad package. Mine came with several broken plastic corners and more breakage as I opened to continue with each disc. To pay that much money for BREAKING PLASTIC package!!! Also be warned, HEARING IMPAIRED NO SUBTITLES!!!

The scenery of the small villages is fascinating for this American, and the collection of fairly odd villagers provide pleasure, too. But, this isn't a "Cosy" mystery series. The crimes are contemporary, investigated by DCI Barnaby and his DSC. There are modern forensics and technology, but it is still up to Barnaby to discover the murderer, among the often many suspects. The stars are good actors and likable. The guest stars are usually top notch.

The best series for mysteries and great visuals of English life. I love the English dry wit and the beautiful landscapes.

This is a great series I have loved for several years. I was delighted when the fourth "package" was introduced. This was a great way to add to my collection.
Any mystery fan should be delighted with this fourth set of 15 episodes on 15 DVD's. A great deal

I enjoy these mysteries so much. They have great humor in the characters. Wish this was not Nettles last bit.
