Product Description

The advantage of a two-piece recorder is that if you have a group of children who like to play their recorders when they should be listening, you can have them take off the head joint to practice fingerings without making any noise.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing plastic recorder, June 17, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: MIE Two-Piece C-Soprano Recorder (Bone-Colored)
I bought this item about ten months ago. Since then, I have used it to play medieval and renaissance music in an amatuer music group. The item is very well made of thick plastic (no lightweight, flimsy recorder!), travels well, tunes reasonably well to A=440, and plays well into the upper register. Don't let the price fool you, I don't think you could find a plastic recorder that has a sweeter tone. According to the company website, it is a reproduction of a renaissance recorder, and the plastic is "imitation rosewood". This is not a professional instrument, but it's probably the best soprano recorder you could ever hope to buy in its price range. I have been very satisfied with this product, and have even recommended it to friends.
