My 7 year old picked this out as the birthday gift for his friend. It was not what I had in mind but he insisted! Sure glad I listened. This was a huge hit. The birthday boy LOVED this.
The dragon walks slowly but he does walk. The boys had no trouble getting this dragon to walk on carpet and hard floor. There are enough bells and whistles, or in this case, lights, action, and sounds to make this very interesting to this age group...6 - 10. He is quite loud and scared the babies at the party but we enjoyed watching the older boys playing with this and did not mind holding our babies. I will be picking one of these up for my guys! It is a great add-on that will "breathe new life" (pardon the pun) into the ole' fisher price castle guy toys, the playmobile castle set, or even the imaginext castle set. If your little guys love dragons and are a bit old for the cutesy ones geared for pre-schoolers, this is perfect! If your children are into 178344515

My 3 yr old was really into dragons and we couldn't find many dragon toys. He saw this in a newspaper ad and asked Santa for it. He's has really enjoyed it. I am not sure how durable it really it - we keep it up on a shelf when he's not playing with it. He later got the T-rex version and the tail fell off right away.
