Having served in the infantry for a tour, I can say that these kits are similar to the simple field kits we used to use. That said, they're not of the same quality. If you have nothing else, they can basically get your M16 clean, but not the best option for sure.

Understand that this product is NOT genuine military issue. It is a cheap Chinese copy of the milspec AR15/M16 cleaning kit. With that comes the usual cheap Chinese threads, that have a tendancy to cross thread. And the oil bottle will leak. The cleaning rod is painted steel, unlike the phosphate oxide finish on the original kits. However, the steel is better than using a brass rod. The attatchments (bore brush, and chamber brush) will work well. I have mixed reaction to the claeaning patches supplied but they are better than nothing. The vinyl pouch that contains the parts, is aslo a cheap copy, and does not include the metal belt clip. You would be more satisfied buying an original US military cleaning kit.

For under 20 bucks I guess this an alright set. Cheap bag with chinchy tools inside. If I had to do it over, I'd just buy all the equiptment seperatly and put it in a better dedicated bag. Convenient to have but if you put in some effort you can build a better set.

Ok nice simple product easy to put in your range bag for on the go cleaning. Nothing fancy but all you need, I don't like the rod but that's just me.

Item is in good condition when received and the bag is presentable for its price. The quality is good and seller is prompt when replying to email for a request. The right tool for cleaning my M4 and would recommend this item to buy!

As soon as this product arrived, I opened it up. In doing so, the pouch it came in ripped where the buttons snapped together. Then the "metal rods" snapped. Leaving me in no better position than when I ordered them. Waste of money.

I got this kit 1) because it looked like the standard military field cleaning kits for the M16, and just about all the items I would need for a day at the range, and the price was right. As it usually is with most of the items I get through Amazon. The rods were a little off line when assembled, but was easy to fix with a plastic hammer/mallet and a tiny anvil. Just a few light taps on the high spots as I ran it across the anvil and that was all she wrote. I was impressed, part, bag and Alice clip. Can't go wrong with this buy, it does what it is supposed to do. Course, I had to add the patches and REM oil. If you have a AR-15 Piston rifle, otherwise Slip 2000. I like it! I would recommend it to anyone. Good deal.

It seems a little cheap but I didn't pay much. Very similar to what I used in the AF to clean my M16 from what I remember. It's cleans my AR15 just fine.

Decent cleaning kit for AR15 at a decent price. Bag that cleaning kit comes in is actually pretty nice and I will be holding on to it. Usually with stuff like this I just throw the bag/pouch away and put it in my cleaning can (.50 CAL ammo can with 3 customizable trays in it). Which this kit fit into prefectly btw.

Rod is a few different peices that screw together; but once together seems pretty sturdy. Brushes are standard stuff.

For the price this is a great set up. It has everything you need to get your gun clean.
