Works like a champ
I connected this device to a laptop running Windows Vista 32 bit OS; the OS sensed the device, activated the drivers, and the reader was in use within a few minutes.

Superb on Vista
I've been using this reader with my XP and Vista machines for a year+ now and has worked flawlessly. I just upgraded to Windows 7 and I've not been able to connect to my DOD sites. I tried the recommended firmware upgrade, latest drivers and latest middleware but am still stumped. Have to use my XP laptop to get online. Anyway great reader for XP and Vista. Highly...

Excellent product. Just make sure you download a good description of how to install. Also, in order to update the firmware for it, you need a Windows computer, so Mac buyers should make sure they have access to a Windows computer prior to ordering this. Still, once set up, it works well.

I have a Macbook and was naturally a little worried about compatibility. But after a little trial and error and some research, it turned out I didn't need to do anything, just plug it in and start using it. Doesn't get much easier than that.

This card reader works great with AKO. I have a new CAC card (you can tell if yours is new by looking on the back. Above the magnetic strip there are little orange letters and numbers). The install is kinda tough but that is not because of the card reader. It is installing the Army certificates. There are step by step instructions on the website [...]. I am not a computer person but I did it, so can you.

The card reader is fine, but the new software (version 6) that we need to make it work has a lot of issues with Vista and Windows 7. I had to use the very old version of the software (version 3), and it works fine.

I am running this on my desktop with Windows 7 64-bit installed. Windows found the right drivers automatically upon connecting it. I am using this item with ActiveClient 6.2 software to log into websites for work. Easy to set up and easy to use. I recommend this product.

This device works fine under SUSE 11.1. Install pcsc-lite, pcsc-ccid, and coolkey. Don't forget to start the pcsc service.
