Product Description

Milty Zerostat 3 Anti-Static Gun Remove Static Electricity from the Surface of Any LP A Must Have For Any Analog Lover - Perfect for Record Cleaning Machine Use This amazing little device known as the Milty Zerostat Antistatic Gun is an antistatic generator which has numerous applications, but our main use is to remove the satic charge on the surface of a record. Just squeeze the "trigger" of the Zerostat and a steady stream of ions is released. The magic comes from two powerful piezoelectric crystals and its patented compression trigger. The Zerostat will simply remove a static charge from the surface of an LP instantly. Perfect for use when the rotation of a Record Cleaning Machine and its suction tube build up a static field on the surface of your records. The Zerostat eliminates this static charge with the pull of the trigger. Highly recommended -- this is an essential analog accessory. To use the Zerostat, simply point it approximately two inches from the surface of the LP. Slowly pull the trigger and then pull the Zerostat away before releasing the trigger. Repeat in all four corners of the LP surface. Done. In later years the Zerostat antistatic gun was discovered to have great applicability for use in a photographic darkroom to remove dust from film and negatives. After that, a wider range of applications came into being when people running SEM labs found out that it was also idea for eliminating dust from critical samples or other critical surfaces when the dust attraction was being caused by electrostatic charge. Others have reported that certain insulating specimens, when treated this way, can actually be viewed (admittedly briefly) by SEM without the need to apply further coating. In the laboratory, the Milty Zerostat keeps film, glass, plastic-ware, and lenses dust and lint free. It also prevents charged particles from flying during weighting or transfer of particles. And the Zerostat gun finds wide use

Perfect tool for removing static from your vinyl records... especially during the winter when it's a major issue.

Once you get the hang of the trigger it works very well and should last a lifetime.

I purchased this gun to use in the weigh chamber of a semi-microbalance which is a scale that can weigh a grain of sand. Static in the chamber will greatly effect the scale and this gun elimitates the static and allows us to get a true reading. ZeroStat is no longer in business so Amazon is the only place I can find them.

My company has been using these guns for years now. They are one of the most simple and effective ways to remove static. They require no batteries, are lightweight, and are capable of + or - ion flow. Worth the money!

This little tool doesn't look like much, but don't be fooled! I work in an industrial lab, and from time to time we have issues with overcoming static electricity on our balances if we are using non-conductive dishes to hold the samples we are weighing. There are more expensive ways to deal with the problem, and we were looking at investing in some of them when I came across this little jewel. I decided to give it a shot, and we weren't too impressed when we took it out of the package. It worked immediately, and now we keep it on the counter next to the balance. Wish I had found it sooner - would've saved a lot of frustration!

This tool has proven indespensible for removing static from my beloved records. I keep them clean, but during the winter they still tend to get some static due to having very dry air in my house because of electric heat. I "zap" before each play and static is not an issue.

I wouldn't own any turntable without this product. It is an analog essential. I have a rega rp6 and the Milty makes it sound even better than stock.

My house is very dry in the winter time so there is crazy amounts of static when flipping vinyl records. Just zap the record for a few seconds with this thing and it lifts clean off the platter, works like magic. Paid for itself after about the second use, a must have for vinyl fans.

I was tempted to buy this thing when it first came out back when the LP reigned as king. But it was expensive, so I held off, fearing it might turn out to be no more effective than the many "miracle" brushes that have been tauted over the years. Well just recently I bought a Zerostat - and yes, it really works! Clicks and pops either elimited or greatly reduced. (It probably can't do much where years of playing has caused dust bits to actually damage the groove and your stylus is playing the damage, not bits of dust.) I give the record a couple shots, then use a brush to remove the dust that has been released, shoot it again and play. During low humidity, you might give it another shot before you remove the disc from the turntable in order to neutralize any static that may have built up during play. That way the disc will not pick up dust as be you put it back in its jacket. This device really works and is worth it!

No, the Milty is not cheap, but it does exactly what you expect it to do.

I use it on my vinyl collection, and I am very happy with the results. I am fanatical about keeping my records clean and use a Nitty Gritty as my vacuum system. Vacuum systems inherently add static to records, and the Milty does a great job of removing the static buildup. I had a couple of records that I was never able to get completely quiet and the Milty did the trick.

If you have a cleaning system in place and still have the odd pop or click give the Zerostat a try. It will take care of it. If you think this will quiet a dirty or abused record you are wasting your money.
