4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Imagery
First of all, you should know that I gave this video 4 stars because I rarely give anything 5 stars, unlike many people who seem to give 5 to everything they review. I reserve 5 for the best of the best.

Keeping that in mind, know that this video is quite relaxing, both visually and auditorily. I admit that I was a little hesitant to buy it at first, mostly...

We purchased this DVD for the waiting room of a psychological practice. -a mistake. It is Eerie and sinister. Even my 5 year old said, "mom this spooks me". The visual images are for the most part solitary and alone. The music even has a eerie tone. 4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Imagery, April 20, 2005

This review is from: MINDFLO - Relaxation, Meditation and Calm with Nature (DVD)
First of all, you should know that I gave this video 4 stars because I rarely give anything 5 stars, unlike many people who seem to give 5 to everything they review. I reserve 5 for the best of the best.

Keeping that in mind, know that this video is quite relaxing, both visually and auditorily. I admit that I was a little hesitant to buy it at first, mostly because of the review that said the music was "eerie and sinister." However, other than the main title music, I found the music to be atmospheric, ambient, and ethereal rather than eerie. I suppose if you are not already a fan of such music you could possibly find it "eerie," but I was relaxed by it rather than scared.

I highly recommend this video for those who want to relax after a long day at work and dread coming home and vegging out in front of some inane reality show. It's also good as a background when I have visitors. It is pleasant and doesn't get in the way of conversation. In fact, it sometimes sparks good conversation.

The only way it could be improved (according to my taste) would be to cut to new scenes more slowly and use fewer close-ups. Cutting to new scenes so "quickly" (a relative term used to describe the contrast between the video content and the audio content) made the visuals seem a little more frenetic than necessary, and the close-ups made me anxious to see more of the immediate surroundings. The panoramic views seemed to instill more calmness in me. However, these small criticisms didn't spoil the overall effect. The people to whom I have shown it find it to be beautiful, and so do I.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Meditation Tool . . . Absolutely Stunning!, January 31, 2005
By
This review is from: MINDFLO - Relaxation, Meditation and Calm with Nature (DVD)
If MindFlo illustrates anything, it is that the natural world is poetry, waiting to be captured. Cinematographer Norman Bosworth does this, and does it masterfully, taking the viewer on a journey through stunning images accompanied by music that melds with the setting until it seems like an inherent facet of the world.

I purchased MindFlo to accompany meditation, which I have only just begun to explore. I found the imagery and music completely appropriate for meditation, helping to calm me and set my mind at ease in preparation to turn my focus inward. But what surprised me is how much I enjoyed just sitting back and watching the various sections of this DVD. I am one of those unfortunate products of over-stimulation; if I am not constantly bombarded with music, words, noise, advertisements, entertainment, I feel as if something is missing. To me, quiet and tranquility seem like foreign concepts; like something monks and gurus might enjoy up on their mountaintops. But me? Never.

This DVD proved to me that I have not been permanently ruined by television, radio, advertising, the Internet, etc . . . I can sit quietly and watch something that contains no words, no witty banter or dialogue of any kind; that is, essentially, lovely images and peaceful music.

Whether you are interested in this DVD as an accompaniment to meditation, or as something to watch when you feel like enjoying the splendor of the world that you're probably missing, you won't find anything better.

I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys peaceful relaxing music mixed with breathtaking scenery. This DVD offers the viewer different sections each one filled with visually stimulating scenes. The quality of filming in this production is far superior to any other relaxation/meditation DVD that I have watched. The sound quality is also excellent, when played on a good sound system you will feel transported into the scenes. It's impossible to feel anything but positive while watching this DVD, so sit back, relax and enjoy.

The DVD contains what I think is some of the most beautiful aerial views I have seen, An true relaxing escape viewing vast landscapes flying around billowing clouds and desert sands. It has wonderful views of changing seasons into winter and takes you from the ocean to inspiring views from mountain peaks. It is a must see especially if you have a HD television.

The visual images are for the most part solitary and alone. The music even has a eerie tone. I finally thought we had gotten somewhere, when they panned to an ocean scene, only to find that they focused on a school of sharks. That's a relaxing image for you. Luckily, I previewed it once, shelved and won't see it again.
