The book is a quick and informal introduction of MIT for new undergrads. Though I suppose new grad students could also benefit. The text talks about various things to do on and around the campus. Related to various common student needs like food that is prepared and quickly available. To what might be considered nice and affordable restaurants, that are accessible to students lacking cars.

The audience is rather limited. Essentially incoming MIT students. However, students at Harvard, Boston University and other Boston colleges might want to glance at the book. The MIT onsite stuff is mostly irrelevant to you. But the hints on what to do outside the MIT campus can be germane.
