Good Morning,

This review came at the perfect time. I recently purchased a lamp for my television. I replaced it on July 3rd. and at first I was very happy until this weekend on July 23rd, when the lamp burned out. I was disappointed that the lamp only lasted 20 days. These lamps are costly and I am reluctant to purchase another lamp in fear that it will only last 20 days each time. Is there a life expectancy for these lamps or some kind of guarantee? If you could please look into this and let me know as soon as possible, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you

Mindy Shaffer

I can't believe I fell for it! It says bulb manufacturer: Osram. The bulb I received is NOT an OSRAM!! I guess you get what you pay for...I just wish these companies would specify that these are not OEM lamps. Can anyone say "false advertising".

1.0 out of 5 stars TV Lamp is poor quality, December 19, 2011
This review is from: MITSUBISHI WD-65732 Replacement Rear projection TV Lamp 915P049010 (Personal Computers)
First lamp lasted less than 3 weeks. Replacement was sent & lasted less than 4 months. Dynamic Designs does not stand behind their defective products & will not replace. They only have a 3 month warranty for a reason. I bought a new one on Amazon for much less money that has a 6 month warranty. I would not recommend this product from this seller.

I'm very disappointed with this particular product. I have replaced the lamp on my projection TV more times than I thought would be necessary. I have had my 55" Mitsubishi TV for about two years and have replaced the lamp five times! I do not know the root cause for the lamp burning out on an average, every 4-5 months. I have verified the output voltage of the TV and it is within the manufactures specification, but the lamps continually burn out within a five month period. I will replace the TV the next time the lamp burns out before I buy a new lamp.

This is just a generic lamp. This is not Osram as advertised by the seller. The lamp did not even last 3 weeks before I had to call in my local TV repair guy and he pointed that my lamp had failed and I had to end up replacing the lamp again. Not a good experience at all!!!

I have seen the same part number used to identify this lamp with and without the cage (the outside plastic casing that houses the lamp). That's basically the main reason for the huge price difference from site to site. The item I purchased was the lamp only (without the cage), so it involved a little extra work. If you go the same route, you will have to open up the old plastic cage, replace the old lamp in the cage and re-use the old cage. You save about 50% of the cost by doing this yourself rather than ordering a unit that comes with the cage. It requires a small flat head screw driver or a dull knife (to pry the plastic cage open) and a small Phillips head screw driver to replace the lamp in it's cage housing, and about 5 to 10 minutes of your time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the orriginal, June 10, 2009

The picture in my TV looks muck better/brighter with this new bulb. You need to feel comfortable around electronics to install this. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE LENS WITH YOUR BARE HANDS! If either of these things is a problem for you, have a professional install it for you.

Last note: the front of the bulb is slightly thicker than the original. You will need to put in all the mounting screws loosely in the mounting, then tighten them in caddy-corner-pairs. Don't worry, it will fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mitsubishi DLP lamp, May 3, 2009
This review is from: MITSUBISHI WD-65732 Replacement Rear projection TV Lamp 915P049010 (Personal Computers)
After much searching and grief from my warranty company, I was able to locate this replacement lamp. Pulled the old unit out (very easy) and removed the old lamp from the housing. Be sure to clean the housing before replacing the lamp. Wear vinyl gloves so as not to touch the bulb directly with your fingers. The oil from your fingers could shorten the life of the bulb. Make sure the housing is dry before inserting the new lamp. I used a hair dryer to ensure 0 moisture was present. The lamp fired right up and has worked very well since it was installed.
