I'm very pleased with these measuring cups. Long enough handles, sturdy construction and heavy weight metal. I even use them to melt butter on the stovetop. If you want the 2/3 and 3/4 cup measures, get the 7 piece set. For my purposes the 5 piece set is just fine.

I really like these measuring cups. They are sturdy, solid and have long handles, which are nice for keeping your hands out of whatever it is you're measuring. Thay are stainless and can go into the dishwasher. It is great that they come with a 1/8 cup measure which most sets do not. 1/8 cup is 2 Tbsp, which is required for a surprising number of recipes. My mother liked them so well, she wanted her own set, and she hardly even cooks anymore.

I recieved these yesterday and can't believe how heavy they are! I am so pleased that I just ordered a second set planning to clear out some of my inferior plastic junk I've been using for far too long. If you enjoy cooking, treat yourself to nice stuff! These are the good stuff and I expect to use these for years and years to come. I just can't get over how much heavier they are than the other stainless steel measuring cups I have from the loca; "W" store.

Beautiful design, heavy construction, nice balance... a delight to use.... if you can bring yourself to use them. They are a work of art. Highly Recommended.

In the past, I have panned some Chinese manufactured goods as 'Chinese Cheapos' (both in price and quality). These, I am happy to report, are excellent, heavy weight measures. The only ones I have found superior to these are AllClad and, for the AllClad price, you can purchase 5 or more of these sets.

A reviewer before me mentioned getting the 7-piece set that includes the 2/3 and 3/4 cup sizes. Be aware that the additional two measures will cost $13!!!! (That's right; $24.95 for the 7-piece set.)

These are dishwasher safe and handwashing is also a breeze. It's not too soon to start your Christmas shopping. I am ordering several sets for friends and neighbors.

09/20/06: I see these good reviews have prompted a $6 price increase. Oh well... It's still a good value.

These cups are high quality stainless steel. Don't worry about putting thorugh the dishwasher or leaving in a sink. I was surprised by their weight and long handles. My old measuring cups were of much thinner steel and over time this lead to dents and deformation of the cups. These MIU cups are extremely sturdy. The handles on my old cups were more typical too, while these MIU cups all have very long handles(~4.5"). At first I didn't like the asthestics of the handles, nor the fact that the smaller ones don't stand up on their own due to the imbalance this creates. However, when I needed to scoop something out of a small-mouthed container, I quickly reversed my opinion of these handles.

Cricisms: The interior has perpendicular corners. I prefer a slightly rounded interior corner for ease of cleaning and emptying. Still, it doesn't make much of a difference. Also, while they're not hard to store, they don't stack all that well, so they'll probably take up more room in your drawer unless you have tall drawers(~5.5"). I suppose because they were designed for cooking utility over storage ease.

(...) for the 5 cups, I'm extremely satisfied. I feel these are top of the line. The 7 cup set is overpriced (...), so definitely go with these. I don't understand why you would throw them away becuase you wanted the 2/3 and 3/4 cups? Just use the 1/3 cup twice or the 1/4 three times...or eyeball the 1 cup.

I'm not sure the manufacturer would appreciate this, but they are great for measuring pet food. The long handles allow me to scoop the correct portion out of the pet food jug without trying to fit a traditional measuring cup through the opening or pouring into the traditional cup and spilling.

Maybe the handles are not as heavy as the ones from All Clad, this product is great for the money and should last forever.

I purchased this set since my plastic measuring cups lost their painted on labels. This set has the label engraved into the handle of the cup, so it can never wear off!! The long handles make it easy to get to the bottom of the flour bag, and they feel sturdy and strong.

wonderful thickness of materials. the only piece that tips over when standing on its own is the 1/8 cup. all the others are heavy enough to stand without tipping. very easy to use and the long handles are great for scooping into bags/bowls.
