Good construction, but the cutting portion of cutter is blunt instead of sharpe. More like squashing than cutting/slicing cleanly. Definately not worth the money. Would not purchase again.

I use an apple cutter a few times a week for my fruit at lunch. I have been using one with a plastic frame for years and finally broke it. I had a really hard time finding a metal one but this cutter has really done the trick. I can't imagine it breaking! Very heavy duty. A few points of interest though: the slices are thinner than I am used to and the core smaller. Just something to keep in mind when purchasing.

I got both this and the Oxo corer, I thought this would be my main corer and that the Oxo one would be for when this one was dirty

(or broken).

I like the weight of this corer and it seems to be well built.

I find the slices to be too small and I think the blades are too dull, so you have to bear down hard with all your weight to cut the apple.

Have had several apple corers in the kitchen drawer for years. Finally wore them out. Had to buy a new one. Wow! They are so much better than they used to be. This one is handy, durable, effective and washes clean in the dishwasher. It is hefty and easy to use. Very nice

This product is very dangerous! It came apart while slicing an apple, with the ring in hand, and the blades embedded into the apple. I highly recommend anyone who is thinking of buying this slicer find another one instead.

We bought this after a long search for a 12 piece fruit slicer. When my wife went to use it, the entire thing fell apart halfway through the first pear. She was left with three pieces: the blades, the ring that holds the blades, and the outer handle assembly. Look for a different slicer.

I was disappointed in this product. The blades are not sharp enough to push down easily and cut through an apple-the whole purpose of the item. I would NOT buy another.

I bought this with high hopes because I use alot of large apples and the reguler ones do not fit. I used it twice and it completely fell apart the second time.

I bought one of those 3 dollar corer/slicers. It barely lasted 10 days. It was cheaply made with the blades being tack welded to the handle and inner ring. Those tack welds broke loose, and it became hazardous to use. I feel like that one wasn't worth a dollar, not to mention three.

I chose this cutter/corer because it looked like it would last. The blades are plenty sharp, though not knife sharp. That means you don't have to worry about slicing your finger off with it. It cuts and cores apples well.

If you have puny arms and can't bear down on it, then you may want to stick to applesauce instead.

After a year of use, I have not had any issues with this apple slicer. It has performed great and is very sturdy. The center coring hole could be a bit larger for the large store bought apples that are grown to be very large, but it is plenty large for the home grown apples I get of my trees in my back yard that don't grow as large. So that I don't have any issues with apples from the store (an because apples are sold by the pound), I just find medium to small apples to buy from the store. This way I get perfect slices every time.
I do recommend this to anyone who needs a good slicer.
