I was so tired of my sticky worned out regular pastry brush. I couldn't tell any more if it was clean any more. With this brush it's easy! Its smooth but somehow keeps sauces and butter in it. It's super easy to clean, feels so smooth and is really to get used to. I love it. And no more loose "hairs" falling on my pastries.

What? A learning curve to use a pastry brush? Well, yes, to a tiny degree. It's a matter of getting used to the very different feel of the fat silicone "bristles" as opposed to regular brushes. I think, too, the length of the bristles on this model might be a bit off-putting. I can't help but feel the brush would handle more comfortably if the bristles were shorter.

But that's just me. In all other ways, I really enjoy using this brush. It holds a good supply of whatever liquid you're using and does an excellent job of coverage. It's nice, too, to know it isn't going to be shedding bits of itself onto your food. Cleanup is much easier and more thorough, I think, than with a regular brush.

...and so much easier to clean than bristles. Since pastry brushes are often used with raw egg, that it a big plus in my book. Small size makes it easy to pop in a cluttered drawer.

admittedly, i've never used a silicone pastry brush before, but i was surprised at how messy it was compared to my usual bristle brush. it's also a little hard to butter pans because the butter flicks up onto the metal handle, which makes it slippery and hard to hold. the quality seems good, though, and it's easy to clean!
