+1 star for being made out of solid stock metal.

+1 star for grinding decent amount of pepper.

-1 star for very small peppercorn space.

-1 star for cheesy stamped tin holders- a sneeze will knock them over.

-1 star for the money i spent and not being happy.

there's better products out there...

I really loved the elegant look of the grinders - they make an interesting conversation piece because people always ask what they are. However, they don't hold alot of salt or pepper and you have to pump a few times to get the amount that you need, especially if you're cooking. The tin stands are worthless. The grinders stand up fine by themselves and I think the stands are ugly and cheap. Another good thing about the grinders is that they're really strong so you don't have to worry about unruly dinner guests breaking them. All in all I like them for their looks, but if you have arthritis there are other products out there that are easier to use....however, this in my opinion is the cutest.

These things are great. I check back all the time to see if they're available again. They haven't been. I should point out that no one else who's used them but me likes them as much as I do. I like them so much I want to buy more in case something happens to them. I want a spare or two. And I rarely give five stars.

I just got these, the pepper one was defective so I am sending them back for a replacement only because I got 25 bucks off 125 deal on the kitchen and baths, otherwise I would have just taken a refund. Get something else. I plan to just keep them to give as a gift or something. There are much more superior products out there. I am sure you will be disappointed if you purchase this set.
