This review is from: MIXIS Collectible Play Doll - First Edition Rosa (Toy)
I purchased YNU Group Mixis Limited Edition Rosa Doll from Gile Toys (a highly recommended Web merchant). I love Rosa's warm, light caramel brown complexion, her funky 70's style denim outfit complete with knee-high boots that actually have a zip closure in back (!), her well-proportioned figure, and her ability to stand without a stand. Until Rosa arrived, I was not aware of her blue eye color, which does not pose a problem... afterall she is a Mixis, of mixed ancestry. Other than her molded-on panties, I am thoroughly pleased with this doll.
I own YNU Group Mixis Limited Edition Opal Doll (also purchased from Gile Toys) and Mixis Opal Sunset Edition with Straight Hair (purchased from Nice 'N Neccessary, another highly recommended Web merchant). Of the three Mixis dolls, I am quite amazed that Rosa is currently my favorite! Her complexion is more realistic (Opal's hair color is too light for her complexion) and I love the texture of Rosa's thick, wavy locks. I remain a black-doll enthusiast, who looks forward to the next generation of Mixis dolls.

This review is from: MIXIS Collectible Play Doll - First Edition Rosa (Toy)
Rosa has lovely, strong features. Her tawny coloring is nicely contrasted by blue eyes. She has a substantial look and weight. So parents offended by the traditional big bust, small waist, thin legs of many fashion dolls might find Rosa less offensive.
The only "problem" is that when she is posed to sit, her legs have a slight spread. Her panties are molded on, flesh colored, but cloth underpants are bulky for 12" fashion dolls. Her outfit resembles real clothes that a real person would wear. The boots are leather-like with a full zip. (Like real boots ... sigh.) I am happy to have this doll in my collection; I look forward to buying other dolls in this series. |
