I typically wear a 7.5 in women's ASICS running shoes and an 8 in Mizunos. I usually wear a trail shoe to give me some extra support, as I do not over-pronate, but like to have more stability than what a neutral cushioning shoe offers. I run anywhere from 10-20mi/wk. I am a fan of ASICS but like Mizunos for their extremely light weight (about 2-3 oz lighter than gel shoes). I bought these shoes to run on trails and on the roads. I ended up returning them because they were too big (these Mizunos run true to size), had an unusually roomy toe box (perhaps caused by getting a 1/2 size too big), and didn't have as much arch support as I'd hoped. I went with the ASICS Gel Trabuco 11 in a 7.5. They were a heavier, sturdier shoe that offered the right blend of cushioning and arch and ankle support for my style of running. As a whole, I think Mizunos work best for very efficient, fit runners who like to get a lot of mileage out of their shoes.
