5.0 out of 5 stars Best spring pistol
By far the best spring aisoft pistol. Use .20 bbs, (.12 curve way up). This gun is really good at close range, and if you learn to aim it right you can shoot pretty far. If you need a real airsoft rifle, the DPMS Panther Arms M16 A1 Deluxe Spring Airsoft Rifle It looks awesome with it. This is a great gun, BUY IT!

ps. BE CAREFUL NOT TO SCREW ON THE SILENCER...

3.0 out of 5 stars Has its ups and downs
My mate bought this gun from a local store for like[...]bucks.

Pros
Good CQB weapon
Comes with extra magazine ( at least my friend's did )
Comes with a silencer, it doesn't suppress sound its just to make it look cooler although it might make it slightly more accurate
Good weight ( not really sure how many pounds though )...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, April 18, 2007
A Kid's Review
Pros:
-cool looking (large)
-durable (at least feels like it)
-made out of good, hard plastic
-FULL METAL mock silencer included
-spare magazine included
-low price
-powerful
-accurate
-nice range
-nice weight
-fixed hop-up (works great with .2 gram BBs)
Cons:
-hard to cock
-a bit annoying to load 52 rounds one by one (that's the total mag capacity for both mags)
-oddly placed magazine release
-a tiny bit of barrel wobble

Now, let me say that this is my first airsoft gun. Yet, I know quite a bit about airsoft guns, as I did EXTENSIVE research, and tried out my friends' spring pistols. Anyway, I would say that this one is WAY better than theirs for many reasons stated above.
It shoots very well, is weighted nicely, and is very fun. HOWEVER, I don't know if I'm just a weakling, got a faulty cocking system, but I have to cock mine weird. I have to use my dominant hand to pull the slide while my non-dominant hand holds the gun. It's okay, but it can get a bit annoying, as one can imagine.
The accuracy is amazing. I can hit a man sized target at almost 100 feet, and the gun shoots almost as hard as UTG's famed spring shotgun (which shoots 330 fps with .12 gram BBs).
This thing is very cheap. For only $19, you get the gun, a FULL METAL mock silencer, and 2 magazines. The mock silencer is nice, but it doesn't seem to do much besides make the gun look cooler, despite seeming to tip very slightly downward. But, that's just fine.
This thing is also very big for a pistol, which is a plus unless you have tiny hands.
The gun is also made out of durable ABS plastic, not that cheap dingy plastic. Although I wouldn't recommend it, this thing can be dropped on grass and stuff without a problem. I have shot somebody on the arm, and this thing gave a welt and a long, sting, so says the person.
However, a minor issue is that the gun's magazine release is a little lever right where the gun's trigger guard meets the grip. It's not too big of a problem, but if you have small hands, it'll be a hard to make split second reloads.
Loading the gun is also a pain, as together; the two magazines will hold 52 rounds, which would take minutes to load everything.
There is a tiny bit of barrel wobble, which I don't mind too much, as that is bound to happen on a spring pistol, which requires the slide to be movable.

5.0 out of 5 stars The SOCOM OWNES, July 12, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: MK23 Navy SEAL Airsoft Spring Pistol airsoft gun (Sports)
I hope you can take the time to read this... You might think: "Is this kid CRAZY??? Man! Look at all of this BS!"

But trust me, it is more than just BS.

This is by far my best (and only) pistol. I was looking into Airsoft, because I have outgrown Nerf (Trust me, it was still fun though). When I found this gun, I was truly amazed. [...]

-The MK23 (a.k.a. SOCOM (Special Operations Command)) pistol is a large and hefty gun... Okay, maybe not so hefty, but still weighs 1 pound without the metal suppressor, and 1.8 pounds with it. It is basically the exact replica, without the fire modes, and de-cocking lever. It does, however, have a safety switch.

-Speaking of the suppressor, it seems smaller in the picture than it really is. But hey, it still looks wicked awesome with it on the gun. Some say it improves accuracy, but if you ask me, the Socom is already crazy accurate if you know how to use the sights. The suppressor is also (I believe, and it feels like it) 100% metal besides the orange paint on the tip. Also, that paint will scratch off if you hit it or scrape it on a hard surface, so handle it with care. One note: The suppressor does not actually silence the gun. I know. It's a disappointment. Another note: When constantly used, the orange plastic on the front rubs off a bit. Only use the suppressor when needed, which is never, so use as seldom as possible.

-Accuracy (like I mentioned before) is incredible. The real MK23 was made because SOCOM requested a pistol (and I quote from Jane's Guns Recognition Guide) "with superior accuracy to the M1911 A1 with an accessory silencer and a laser aiming spot projector." Using the sights, you could hit a quarter easily from 10ft. You can hit a 3x3 inch Post-it-Note from 16ft with some practice and some tranquilizers to keep your hands steady.

-Cocking (say whatever sick jokes you want, pervert). I know that the slide may be a bit hard to pull back for some people, like me. I just put the slide to my left leg along with my hand, and use the friction of my leg to assist the right hand in pushing the handle forward. I know it's kind of hard to picture, but if you understand, it helps a ton. These days, I can pull it back without having to use my leg, so it looks a bit more natural, but it sometimes makes my left arm a bit sore.

-Theoretically, a laser designed to fit with "under the barrel" rails could work with the Socom. Personally, I have looked on both Amazon and eBay for a suitable laser. Unfortunately, I haven't found one under 30$ compatible with a rail. I have, however, found some lasers that do not use the rail, but instead use a mini clamp to attach itself to the end of the trigger guard. These lasers also are quite expensive. Plus, you'll have to deal with bore sighting, batteries, and defected products, so my advice is to skip the laser all together.

-Clips for the Socom look like the real thing. They are also metal, I believe. They hold 25 BBs, MAX. Any more could damage the internals. Ejecting a spent magazine and putting in a new one can be a stylish manner, lol. The package also comes with 2 (one in the gun, and one in the box). Some say loading BBs into the clip can be painful, but it really isn't that bad. I also recommend 0.2 BBs, because I have used 0.12 and they are not even close to as accurate as 0.2 BBs.

-Tips:

-When you first get the gun, don't over use it. You are going to get a bruise.
-Bruise? This gun hurts the user? Well, yeah, if you shoot yourself. But it also bruises your right hand: the place between your index finger and your thumb. You will see what I'm talking about once you get the gun. But don't worry; your hand will toughen up.
-Dress up. Hey, looks count.
-Make a holster. (It is really useful.)
-Practice makes perfect.
-This gun hurts (280+ fps). It can puncture corrugated cardboard at 10ft. Beware!

Hopefully, you have managed to read my review without falling asleep. I hope it helped, too.

Cheers,
Jsh

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best spring-gun deals EVER!!!, February 19, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This gun not only is better than Marui, but it's about 1/3rd of the price... at least. It comes with a full-metal mock silencer (the rest of the gun is hard plastic) AND an extra clip. UTG is easily one of the best Airsoft makers around. And for the price, you really can't beat this deal!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Value for a Very Nice Springer, June 27, 2008
I got this gun within 3 days of shipping. After opening the box, the first thing I noticed was the fact that, for all intents and purposes, this looks like the real thing. Both magazines are made of metal, which pleased me, and they slide very nicely into the receiver with a satisfying click. The gun fits very nicely into your hand, and reloading is very simple. To load the magazine, you push bb's into the mag as if you were loading a real magazine. It's very convenient, and being an airsoft player and a gun enthusiast, it truly adds to the MilSim experience. The silencer is fantastic for themed play (also made of metal), though the threads on the gun are made of plastic, and too much attaching and detaching will wear them down. It's got a nice range for a springer, and the FPS on this thing shocked me. It's a fantastic sidearm to compliment an AEG, and a great gun for starters. Fantastic quality, and it will take up to .28 gram rounds (That's as high as I tested it), though as always, the lighter the round, the farther it goes.

I love this thing, and I encourage any airsoft enthusiasts to get their hands on it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gun, February 3, 2007
A Kid's Review
I got this gun yesterday, and I have not used it other than target practice yet. It is really accurate, especially with the mock silencer. It is a bit hard to cock, and sometimes the BB's fall out, and it takes a while to load the magazines (so get a speed loader), but it is a great gun.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE DUDE, July 1, 2007
This gun is great! The only problem I have had with it is that the threds on the end of the barrell are starting to strip after taking the silencer on and off for about a few months. It shoots very powerful but inacurate at 330 FPS with 12 grahm bbs. but with 20 grahm bbs it is much more acurate but deplets the FPS to about 240. Not Ideal when your friends all have 350 FPS shotguns. But as long as you choose your bss acording to the conditions this gun is perfect (unless an enemy has an automatic). Even then most automatics are not that powerful so in other words this pistol is an all around great gun! Thanks UTG!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!, April 24, 2007
I bought this gun recently and it is incredible. The two 26-round clips it comes with are very convenient but be sure to get a speedloader. My only complaint would be that it is rather difficult to cock at first (i don't know why). Anyway, this gun is a great value and you should deffinately buy it if you want a great gun at a low price. Shipping was very fast. Standard shipping shipped on wednesday and arrived on saturday in a 4.4 pound box (i ordered BBs with it... I recomend Air Venturi).
P.S. I've seen worse guns for more money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gun for the price, May 16, 2007
My friend owns this gun, and it is beastly. It's very accurate with .12 BB's, but it's deadly accurate with .20 BB's. Oh yeah and the top fell off once, but I put it back together, so it's a very good gun for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Gun, March 12, 2008
This is a very nice air soft gun. It looks quite authentic, has a good weight to it. It's my first air soft gun and it's a heck of a first on to have. Now even though it's my first owned, it's not the first expierience i've had with these guns, it's becoming an interest of mine.

So I was glade when I got it today that I decided to get it, it's got some power to it too.
My only real complaints are it didn't come with an bb's and you have to cock it after each shot. But the force behind the shot more than makes up for it.

So word of advice. Buy this gun.
