This review is from: MLB 07 The Show (Video Game)
This game is so much better than MLB 2K7 for PSP, it has so much better graphics, Road To The Show is awesome. They still have great gameplay, this game couldn't be much better (other than the fact that David Wright is on the cover), so if your looking to get a good game for PSP GET THIS!!!

This review is from: MLB 07 The Show (Video Game)
I was a big fan of MLB '06: The Show and so I bought this one thinking they could only improve on the last one. I was wrong. The area I have a problem with is the career mode. I always love that part of the game and so I dove right into it when I received this game. After each game, you get a certain amount of points depending on how well you did and how many 'goals' you completed (if you're doing the 'new' version and not the 'classic' career version). In the beginning of your career, this means you don't get that many. If you're playing as a pitcher, you can expect to get few in the early stages since everyone and their mother will hit a homerun against you. You take those points and use them for 'training' to help you get better in any number of areas like fielding, velocity, control, etc. If you don't train in each area after a couple of weeks, you start to lose points. Meaning, if you're not pouring points into your 'control' area every time you get them, then you'll lose control after a week. How unrealistic is that? I mean, real baseball players don't lose velocity if they don't sit there and train every single day. I liked it much better in the last version where you'd work toward building up points in a certain area and then after a certain age, you'd start to decline faster.
This game also seems to have more silly glitches than the last. With runners on base, the game tends to get a little choppy and runs a little slower. Balls that are CLEARLY hit foul are called homeruns, ground balls that your players should throw to get the out at first (if you have the fielding on auto) are thrown to third to try and get the runner from second even though it's not a force and the third baseman doesn't tag him but rather catches it and then throws to first and everyone is safe. Also with auto fielding (which I had on because I was the pitcher and not concerned with the other players), shallow popups aren't caught even though the outfielder could clearly get there in time. He choses to let the ball drop and he catches it on a bounce while everyone scores. Another thing is the catcher calling the pitches that he thinks are your best ones as a pitcher. He even suggests a location. I honestly had my catcher suggest I throw a fastball down the middle to Ryan Howard. And, out of interest, I decided to go along with my catcher for one inning and do everything he suggested. I gave up 7 runs. A lot of the things that they've tried to implement in this game are good in theory but were not well executed. '06 was much better in my opinion. The other modes aren't bad, but they could use some work too. All in all, let's just say this: after a week of having the game, I took it out of my PSP and put in the '06 version.

= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: MLB 07 The Show (Video Game)
This is one of the best baseball games out. Here are my reviews.
The Good: The graphics are amazing. Batting is a blast. Tons of options when creating players. Replay is awesome. Plenty of pitch choices when creating pitchers. The Bad: Pitches aren't right on the spot when thrown. Speed of pitches can be a hassel. Ratings out of 10: Graphics-9.0 Gameplay-8.8 Sound/Music-9.5 Value-9.0 Overall-9.0 If your a baseball fan, GET THIS GAME!!!
