A Great Baseball Game,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: MLB 2004 (Video Game)
MLB 2004 is a great game. It has great graphics and the players look good. Nomar's batting stance is the same in real life which is really cool because I'm a Red Sox fan. Also the pitchers have the same wind ups as in real life. The stadiums are really great and look hte same in real life. The commentary is not that great though. I'm suprised that this game is only [item price] because it's better than most baseball games. I think this is the second best baseball game out their because ASB 2004 is the best. I would rent MlB 2004 before buying it though just to make sure you like it. Thank you for listening to my opinion.

Cool Game, A Bit Unrealistic,
By A Customer
This review is from: MLB 2004 (Video Game)
Yeah, I'm a huge baseball fan (I have written a lot of baseball game reviews), and this one I have been please with the second most. I bought it used (of course), and I played it and it was pretty fun. The Total Control Pitching® and Batting was a great option, not included in many baseball games this year. The players and their attributes were accurate and they had the same amount of power as they would have in real life. ------>BUT, simming a season is STUPID! I won like 130 games and most of my batters pitched and one batter was 0-34 :-o Also, if you sim, the batters and pitches have almost the same stats as the year before, and the year before, etc. Players retire but not if they're on your team. ------->THE other modes are great. The Create-A-Player is very detailed, and the Spring Training mode is like no other. I still can't figure out why they're charging 50 bucks for junky games like High Heat 2004 and MVP Baseball 2003, and this is only 40 ??? buy this game it is one of the best!! *CHECK OUT MY OTHER REVIEWS!!!!!*

This game is one of the best MLB games I've ever played. The Graphics are great. The stuff in the games is realistic. The players are realistic. The game could be 5 stars if a couple more options were added. One option is change the order of the lineup or have a pinch runner. The replay is another thing that needs improvement. They should have slow rewind, slow fast-forward, and more camera angles. Aside from that, this game is a pretty good one.

This game is great it is so realistic unlike mvp baseball 2003. In mvp you can score like 30 runs in a game. chesesy. In mlb you can have a more realistic game. you can have a bullpen and have to wait for you guy to warm up and tire out. Its great

First of this game is a waste of money. The graphics are horrible and MLB 2004 has made now improvments from past MLB games. If i was looking to buy a baseball game i would get either ASB 2004, World Series 2k3 or MVP baseball.

Ok the game is cool, it has good graphics, underated graphics. I like this, and why i like it is generally for two reasons, one b/c you have the spring training, that makes it all, and most importantly the "Guess Pitch" with is good, and u can really challenge the AI of the game, buy and i reccomend you will like it also

Waste of time and money,

This game is alright but is unrealistic. The pitches never go the same direction. One time it will left, the next time it will go right. The graphics in create a player are so unrealistic. You can't even change the shape of the face and you also have limited stats. There is no way to create a player that is good at both hitting and fielding.

Some good, ALOT bad,

First let me say some of the good things I found with this game. The picthing and hitting in this game is more realistic. You're not going to hit 35 homeruns with a guy that would usually hit 10 in a season. The pitching is also more realistic. You get a good amount of strikeouts and the pitches are more realistic in their physics. Now for the bad. When you actually hit a ball the physics of it going through the air are completely unrealistic. A ground ball will go foul outside the first base line and then come back inside the line and they'll call it fair. If a ball is hit in the air and going foul it will come back sharply into fair territory. This game offers no realistic gameplay features. You have no budget for a franchise and can get every freeagent you want year after year until you stack your teams. Every year of sim you have 5 teams that win at least 110 games. That happens 1 time in every five years for one team. If you're looking for even a marginal baseball game, look elsewhere. This game is horrible and not worth your money or time. I like ASB 2004.

i dont really play video games very often, but i'm a baseball fan who was dying to see baseball action during the offseason. So i picked up this game on the cheap and was disappointed with how easy it is in some parts, and how hard in others. I thought the hitting was way too easy, only because opposing pitchers were dumb. If you sit on the fastball and hit hte change, you will score in the teens in runs. and pitching was easy, although it did give up way too many home runs. I pitched three or four perfect games, and had about a dozen more stolen from me by a solo home run. But i never walked a single batter, and i think i drew about four walks ever. usually when the count was 3-2 you got a strike. and 3-1 for that matter. and 3-0. I just found myself bored with the game. It was too easy. I took the detroit tigers and had a 55-0 season before i just got sick of proving it to myself. Does anyone know any games taht might be more challenging? |
