4.0 out of 5 stars A decent baseball game for your Nintendo DS
I was looking for a good baseball game for my Nintendo and that is exactly what I found in this new version of MLB 2K10. It is not great but it is fun. 2.0 out of 5 stars Fun game if you don't mind bonehead players
This game for the DS is ok, not great, just ok. Be advised that when set on auto field, the fielders do some really dumb things. (Outfielders don't run to the ball, they just wait for it to reach them- letting it drop for a hit, the first baseman will run AWAY from the ball which is usually headed to RIGHT WHERE HE WAS JUST STANDING, he'll also throw the ball to the wrong...

I was looking for a good baseball game for my Nintendo and that is exactly what I found in this new version of MLB 2K10. It is not great but it is fun. There still is some technical things that do not add up....like the announcements by the broadcaster, scoring plays often show up the next batter instead of on the spot, and sometimes the baseball disappears from the field of play and you have to start all over again. I thought I might get to trade players and add to roster but you do not with this game. Whatever players are listed on a team stay there on a permanent basis. Makes the game good for only one year I guess. I do like how it keeps stats for players and pitchers and you can adjust the lineup and batting order. You can also play a single game or a complete season with playoffs and world series. Only but this game on sale. It is not worth the full retail price. With a limited selection of baseball for the Nintendo games.....this is your better choice. At best I give it a B grade and at worst I give it a C for average.

This game for the DS is ok, not great, just ok. Be advised that when set on auto field, the fielders do some really dumb things. (Outfielders don't run to the ball, they just wait for it to reach them- letting it drop for a hit, the first baseman will run AWAY from the ball which is usually headed to RIGHT WHERE HE WAS JUST STANDING, he'll also throw the ball to the wrong base (if the ball is hit to him with a runner on second, he will ALWAYS throw the ball to third base, not run to first for the out. Some hits right down the line are foul balls, some are fair balls (It seems the computer always ends up on the plus side of that deal even when some seem more foul than others- is that even possible?) The runners, for some inexplicable reason, will try for the next base even though there is no chance to make it. (I've even had runners run BACK to the previous base on a hit!?!?!?) Very frustrating when the game is given extra outs to work with. If you don't mind this, go for it. I have not had the freezing issue (yet.) You can't even steal second with Jose Reyes, he seems to always get thrown out. I mean, really? Good luck.

4.0 out of 5 stars Improvement Over Previous Version, March 19, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: MLB 2K10 (Video Game)
I disagree with most of what has been written. I do agree about the game freezing. I brought it back to the store where I bought it for that reason. It also was not recording an out when one was made.

The graphics are far superior & the game is really easy to play with one exception - more on that later. I like the fact that most of all the stadiums are represented. They also have full rosters.

There is no umpire to see & no people in the stands behind 1 st & 3 rd base. There also is no wild pitch. i like the intentional walk option. The one thing I cannot master is trying to hit home runs. I guess the longer you play you will eventually get this aspect of it. The Bigs is all home run driven & the way the fans are shown is a joke

While it is not the best, it is well worth the money. I would give it 4 stars.

Although I'm new to the Nintendo DSI I really enjoy playing the MLB 2K10 baseball game, I've always beena fan of baseball and since I can't phyically play, I find the game just as challenging. Its like the real thing, you can even play a full season of baseball in realtime mode.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not That Great, July 22, 2011
A Kid's Review

The game is fun overall to play. But there are many many problems. To start the fielding your just circles with numbers in them running around the field. Also the batters don't even wear batting helmets. And lastly all the players are messed up. I tried a season with the Yankees, Texeira can't hit a homerun, All the pitchers stink except for rivera and cc, jeter can't hit anything out of the infield, and they don't even update the players to the year. If you ask me it's a fun game but there are MUCH better baseball games out there.

It's hard to find decent games for DS that aren't aimed at children or teens. Bringing MLB 2K10 to DS is a bold move for 2K sports. Unlike porting an Xbox game to PC, DS requires new thinking in the design of an existing game. 2K does an admirable job here. Gameplay is entertaining, if not overly challenging. Good use is made of the dual screen concept with the top screen containing all the scoreboard and player info. Having every stadium and every player(with their stats and strengths being integral to the game)is impressive on a tiny card. Sure there are compromises and a few features are lacking, but this is DS, not Xbox 360. Graphics are as good as it gets for DS. Sound effects are good, though the announcing gets repetitive (obviously a side effect of limited memory space). All games appear as day games. Again, a choice was made to save memory, but aren't most games at night? Length of games and seasons can be selected depending on your patience level, but if you choose a short season, you'll always play the same begining part of the same schedule. It would be nice if you could pick a different chunk of the season to face different teams. I typically play shorter games, too, so I haven't run into the freezing issue that others have mentioned. I certainly can see this as a deal-breaker, so take my review for what it's worth. Still, I find MLB 2K10 a good start at bringing DS to a more adult audience. And at less than 20 bucks, it's a bargain.

fast shipping& totally worth buying. definately worth $17 and a appropriate shipping price. Many different play options. I would have liked 2 know if it was multi-player or not. But still an overall great buy.

Now it's a different incorrect product description...

"Sail a pirate ship as a Captain of the sea, navigate through outer space in a spaceship and fight the villains as super heroes!
Tap, blow, scribble, shout and drag your way through over 24 mini-games!
Play a song using different musical instruments like the drums, xylophone, guitar, recorder, saxophone and trumpet.
Featuring the authentic character voices of the Backyardigans TV Show!"

However, the DS version of this game is awful... the repetitive announcing will drive you nuts. The gameplay is lackluster. My first game never ended, the game froze after I won in extra innings. This was after the announcer said "And now we'll head to the 11th" after the top of the 10th inning.

I only played 1 and a half games on the subway on the way home from work, but I've already printed out the trade in form to send it back to Amazon.
