Although MLB isn't much of an improvement from previous installments, the games combined is a great deal for any sports gamer. The MyPlayer modes are singlehandedly why I purchased this and I have already poured 20 hours into each game. The best part about these games, is that 2K doesn't stiff you with an online pass, meaning if you could find a used copy on here, I would recommend you get it.

I am pleased that I bought this combo pack. Both of these games are very fun. MLB 2k12 is quite underrated.

Baseball is a very good game. The career player is something different than previous baseball games and the supersim option makes it easy to play a lot of games quickly. Totally recommend for people who love baseball, but are too old to play!!

I bought this for my nephew who loved having both games in a single pack. He didn't stop playing except to eat dinner!

I have only played the MLB part of this game so far, that is the main reason I bought this game, it is pretty good, there are definitely a few bugs that need to be fixed. Sometimes the SS will not charge a ground ball which results in a base hit for the opposing team, which is very frustrating. My Xbox freezes every time I get to a certain point in the Home Run Derby, so I will probably never be able to get that achievement. Stealing bases can be pretty difficult unless you have someone with a speed rating over 90. Other than that, the graphics are pretty good and the gameplay will entertain for hours.

I have always been a big fan of the NBA 2k series. I wanted to buy that game since its the day it came out, and was unable to. I do enjoy aspects of the MLB 2k series but I bought the package because of the NBA 2k. But getting the mlb for 10 bucks extra makes this one great deal.

Since there are two games, I'll start with NBA 2k12

The spirit of the NBA is evident throughout the game. The menu is easy to use and if you use the play now mode, the announcing and actual game date will change to the current date. Of course this can't be said for the association mode. The association mode is my personal favorite wilth multiple options and features. When it comes to gameplay, this award winning series delivers. With the ability to shoot using the X button as well as the challenging toggle shooting controls, I found myself using the right stick toggle controls for the added challenge. Both ways of shooting require you to pull (or press) and release accurately and on time. Players have different sweet spots so it will take some time to get used to. I am not exactly good at the game, losing 3 straight in association mode before finally winning in overtime, but it is still a fun game to play and even hear the commentating as you play. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 due to its overall fun. Minus half only because I suck at it.

I had high hopes for MLB2k12, considering my last outing with 2k sports was MLB 2k9, which was an atrocity of glitches and repetitive commentators. I will say that for the most part, 2k delivered. Game modes are fantastic and are headed by the career mode. You start from nothing to something in an experience that seems like the American Dream. Like the NBA game, I prefer the franchise mode, solely because I get complete control of the team. The batting got an upgrade with a shorter reaction time to pitches and the new different kinds of batting that make the experience come to life even more. The ONE thing I was disappointed about was the pitching.

Let me just start by saying the baseball game is absolute crap. The graphics are awful and so is the gameplay. Unless you're an avid baseball fan, that's the only way I can see you enjoying this game. I played this game twice and got so tired of it very quickly.

Moving on to the basketball game:

The gameplay is very fun. Being on Xbox live and playing online is very enjoyable. The features on the game are entertaining and never seem to get old. Some gameplay complaints are that you cannot control whom you pass the ball. Players make half court passes which end up being sent to the other team. Also, some teams are severely overrated and some are severely underrated. For example, the Miami Heat literally make 95% of their shots even with players who cannot shoot that well. As with the Los Angeles Clippers. Blake Griffin making half court 3 point shots does not make sense. The Hall of fame mode is cool but the "my player" mode isn't. It sucks, how are you going to have your player make all his practice shots but not even be able to make a layup during the game? I don't like the "Teammate grade" feature either. It's very difficult to play defense and have your teammate grade go up. The graphics in this game are little bit better. Overall, I would buy it but be wary of some ridiculous elements of the game like overrated players and unrealistic gameplay.
