5.0 out of 5 stars Great Toaster
We Bought this Toaster just to have. I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. We tried our Toaster & have not had the problems that the other reviewer has had. The toaster works great. The SF image prints on the bread just fine. Our toast has never got stuck. The only drawback is where the logo is, the bread on the outside doesn't get that toasted. Other...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Made Well
This toaster came in a damaged box and appeared like maybe it was a return item. The emblem on the side of the toaster was coming off, and I have to continually press it back on.

The quality of the product itself is not good at all. My $10 toaster from Wal-Mart is way better than this one in quality.

It was a very expensive disappointment. When...

When you pay $40 for a toaster, you are expecting something much better than what we received. Look close at the picture, and you can see how cheap the plastic is that it is made from. I thought it was stainless steel because I didn't look at it very closely.

My husband is also an avid Boston fan. He is saying that the B for Boston is not right. Maybe it is supposed to be right, but when it burns on the bread, he doesn't feel that it represents the Boston logo well. Sorry honey, I really wanted to surprise you with something special.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointed in PA, December 31, 2010

Bought this to give to my stepdad, who is a HUGE Boston Red Sox fan, for a birthday gift. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Toasted only one side of bread, and that side wasn't even the logo imprint side! The concept of this novelty item is cool. Just wished it would have worked, too.
I was embarrassed to have to take a gift back, and return to Amazon.
I will say Amazon has a great return program. No hassles there. Got a full refund, since the product wasn't available for replacement, which was fine by me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible Toaster, December 2, 2010
This review is from: MLB Protoast Toasters (Sports)
We were so excited when the box arrived but we didn't have any bread to toast. oh no! When we finally did have some bread, we waited with anticipation to see the famed logo appear on the toast...Well, it did appear, a bit, sort of, after a while, kind of burning. But the logo is the only part of the bread that gets toasted! At all. So, I don't know if I would call it a toaster...maybe an awkward bread branding iron. The outer shell is plasticy, and feels junky to be honest.

Big disappointment.
We returned it.

1.0 out of 5 stars THIS TOASTER IS A DANGEROUS PRODUCT!!!!, October 4, 2010

Here is my experience with the New York Yankees Protoast by MLB purchased through Amazon.com ...

The first time this gift was used, sparks literally shot out of it and it started to catch fire. This is a flimsy, dangerous product. If you buy this for yourself or as a gift, it is my opinion that you should have the Amazon prepaid return label ready to go AND make sure both your home and medical coverage are paid up and current before plugging the thing in. This is a great idea poorly executed. Novelty toast is not worth endangering health and property.

Purchased this toaster as a gift for my wife, looks really cool but is a piece of garbage, if you are able to even get the pieces of bread in,it doesn't burn the logo in and you have to unplug it and use a knife to dig them back out.

Other than that, it works fine & is a great conversation piece. We love it!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Used twice and done., June 14, 2011
This review is from: MLB Protoast Toasters (Sports)
Daughter bought this for my grandson a Detroit Tigers fan at 4 years old. Only used it a few times and it quit working. Won't lock down and seems to make no electrical connection, doesn't get warm holding it down. We've had it for maybe 6 months so nobody's going to take it back. So I remove three screws take the cover off and examine the couple circuit boards and the mechanism that is supposed to hold the toast down. There was a piece of copper stuck to the grease on a small block that rides up and down with the mechanism. There is a thin copper strip that is supposed to make contact with another thin copper strip. Well this has either burned or broken almost through. It's just hanging on by a very small section. The piece I found broken off was the other side of the contact. A very flimsy and shoddy arrangement for something as important as a switch. I believe this is a major flaw in engineering and cost cutting. It's not a quality product, most of their cost may have been procuring the rights to the team logos. I suppose it could be put on a shelf in my grandson's room, but for the money it should make toast. I only gave it 1 star just because it worked twice.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Quality, February 5, 2011

Purchased this as a gift and was so disappointed! While the branding is a great concept, having to hold the button down to even get the toaster to attempt to work is awful! This is a poorly made product. Don't waste your money. I've already returned it and didn't opt for a replacement!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Idea For a Cubs Fan, January 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: MLB Protoast Toasters (Sports)
I purchased this toaster as a gift for my sister-in-law who is a die-hard Cubs fan. She was very excited when she opened the gift! It is a very unique, creative gift for the Cubs fan who has everything.
She did tell me that they do don't use it all the time, she saves it for game day. It did not seem to be very durable, and the toast does not fully pop out all the way after a few uses. I offered to return it for her due to malfunction, but she insisted on keeping it. She will use it on game day when they aren't physically at the game.
It is a novelty item, do not purchase this to replace an every day toaster. But as a unique gift or a collectors item, it is wonderful!

My husband received this toaster for his birthday. It worked for two times and then when I tried it the bread kept popping up after a few seconds. This is a novelty that does not work for long.
