MLCS 9214 1-1/16-Inch Diameter High Quality Steel Forstner Bit

I needed a forstner bit quickly, and decided to try out this MLCS bit. While this looks very similar to other forstner bits, the performance was very poor. I had to clear the bit several times for each hole I cut. I checked for imperfections but found none. I lubricated the bit to see if that would help, but it did not. Performance was equally poor with hard- and softwood.

I do not recommend this product, and my experience with it will keep me from buying another MLCS bit again.

This is not a top of the line bit. I bought it because I needed the odd size for a specific project and it will probably see only occasional use thereafter. It cut reasonably cleanly after doing some honing to get rid of the manufacturing burs before I used it the first time.

Adequate for my specific need but not something I would buy for frequent or precision use.

The business end was fine, but I was surprised that the shaft didn't it into my drill bit extension. I would suggest that vendors may want to specify shaft size as well as bit size.

I was a little skeptical with this product because of the price. But after drilling 50 holes in a row for a project, let's just say MLCS rocks!!
