5.0 out of 5 stars Does the job
I got one of those new peep holes for my front door, you know the ones that are about 2.25" at the widest. It's actually just over (by 0.020") 2.25 so I had to go the next size up at 2.375". Did you know this has a 0.5" shank? I didn't. Did I miss that in the description or...? Luckily I had a hand-help electric hammer drill (a Bosch, man that thing is a power house)...

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the correct dimension
I needed a 2 3/8 inch forstner bit. Using digital caliper it should measure 2.375 inches. This one measures 2.369 inches. Close but not at all what I needed. I looked at the box it came in and was not surprised to see "Made in China". I'll make sure future purchases will say "Made in USA".

I got one of those new peep holes for my front door, you know the ones that are about 2.25" at the widest. It's actually just over (by 0.020") 2.25 so I had to go the next size up at 2.375". Did you know this has a 0.5" shank? I didn't. Did I miss that in the description or...? Luckily I had a hand-help electric hammer drill (a Bosch, man that thing is a power house) that would accept 0.5" shank bits. These bits are not generally meant to be used hand-held but I had no choice. Plus, I already had a center hole so the bit point was useless. I really had the cards stacked against me. I jigged up a container and went at it. I tell you it stuck a couple of times and that drill nearly pulled my arm out of it's socket but, I got through. There was some burning and it was a struggle but, the bit did it's job eventually and I got the hole I wanted. My use was not the intended one for a bit of this size in a hand-held situation but it worked non the less. I got a little build-up on the side but I know the next time I use it (hopefully in a drill press with a nice constant speed and maybe some dry lube) it will get me through (pun intended).

Good bit. Did an unexpected job. Fine price.

the product worked great. It was use for home use. I drilled 12 holes in red oak and it performed perfect.
