IMPORTANT PRODUCT USAGE INFORMATION,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black) (Electronics)
I have had many FM Wireless Transmitters over the years. This is the least expensive device and has the most features.
Some people reported that they receive it without any instructions. Additionally, I've had fuse problems with two units and have since switched to a different FM Transmitter. If after reading this review, it helps you to either purchase this product or pass it up, I hope you'll click the YES button at the bottom of this review (this way, the review can be found by buyers trying to choose between FM Wireless Tramsmitters ... Thank you!) IMPORTANT: Turn the volume level on the wireless FM Transmitter to medium to medium/high! I set mine on 12 (out of 15). This affects the quality of the FM transmission from the FM Wireless Transmitter to your car's stereo. Reviewers who have complained about poor quality of audio or static probably did not do this! Additionally, if you are connecting your MP3 player (instead of SD memory card, MMC, or USB drive) you MUST turn the volume of the MP3 player up to a medium-high volume level. WHAT TO EXPECT: The FM Wireless Transmitter is very light weight and fits loosely in the car's power adapter. When compared to other typical power adapter devices (i.e. Mobile Phone Charger), this may give you the impression of low quality. To turn the device off, unplug it. It is a one trick pony, that is you can not dynamically switch between SD memory card and MP3 player (or USB device). To switch between devices you will need to unplug, remove an existing device and put in another. The 1/8 inch Jack and cable for MP3 players cuts out SD memory card or USB devices. You must remove the cable to switch. (What do you expect for [...]). An important product feature of this device is that it allows you to choose the FM frequency you would like to use to transmit to your radio. Additionally, this is the most powerful FM Transmitters that I have ever used. It easily overrides existing radio station if you choose. The signal strength of the transmission relates directly to the `VOLUME' setting (see above). When you disconnect the FM Wireless Transmitter or shut off your car, the FM Wireless Transmitter's internal memory will store all the device setting including the last song played from a memory device. When you plug in the 1/8 mini plug cable (about 1 foot long with Male to Male plugs on both ends) to connect a MP3 Player, the attached memory cards or USB device will not be accessible. If you are using memory cards or USB drives when initially installing the device, leave the cable unplug. The wireless remote control to the FM Wireless Transmitter works fine, but you do need to press hard enough so that within the button's switch electrical contact is made. Also, the remote is infra-red and needs to be in the line-of-site to the FM Wireless Transmitter. If the transmitter is hidden by a gearshift, or back of a seat, the remote control will not work. PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION: The `user manual' is just a small slip of folded paper with multi-language instruction and a few inaccuracies. For example, the documentation referred to the label name/symbol of buttons on the FM Wireless Transmitter, but the physical device had different name/symbols. The product documentation referring to the remote control is accurate, and you can completely configure and control the transmitter via the remote control. WHAT REALLY SUCKS: For what ever reason, you can blow the internal FUSE. I did replace the fuse on mine two times now in less than 2 weeks. Finally, I just gave up with it, just too lazy to replace the fuse. I think maybe that the volume level may be part of the problem and that the volume level needs to be turned down before turning off your car so that the device will not draw too much power when the car is started. NOTE: Two spare fuses are included in the product packaging. EASY FUSE REPLACEMENT: Unscrew the tip of plug by gripping the base of the plug firmly and the small black plastic tip at the very end (very little black plastic on the tip to take a hold of and farther to the end than the metal ring), be careful when doing this or you will drop the FUSE and loose the cap that goes over the FUSE. Once apart, it's a no-brainer to swap out the FUSE. RECOMMENDATIONS: Buy a Micro SD memory card with an SD adapter (that accepts the micro SD card). I bought mine on Amazon from ChiTek (Amazon Vendor) for [...] and [...] shipping. The Micro SD card was 2 GB from SanDisk. The Micro SD Card slides into the SD adapter so that it is compatible with the FM Wireless Transmitter card slot. I suggest getting the Micro SD memory instead of SD memory because it will be more versatile in the near future (phones, camera's)...etc. Additionally, you if do not have a Micro SD or Mini SD card reader on your computer, you can get one from Amazon. NOTE: I have read from comments on this product that this device will not work with memory larger than 2 GB. If you are looking for a memory card on Amazon to go with the FM Wireless Transmitter use the keyword `BULK' in your search. For an exact search for the memory product I used copy and paste = "SanDisk 2GB MicroSD/TransFlash Card w/SD Adapter".

Best FM transmitter (has shuffle feature also),
This review is from: SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black) (Electronics)
I bought this last month. I am very satisfied with this FM transmitter. Works great for me.
Today I figured that this also has shuffle repeat or all repeat functionality as well. If you press and hold the play/pause button (on the device and not the remote) for few seconds then it will toggle between "shuffle repeat" mode and "repeat all" mode. On LCD display you will see "<repeat arrow>A" for repeat all mode and "<repeat arrow>S") for shuffle mode. Also if you press and hold on next button for few seconds then it will increase the volume. Hope this helps. I would definitely recommend this.

Pretty Good,
This review is from: SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black) (Electronics)
I just bought this FM transmitter. The Remote did not work. But, the seller replaced it quickly.
If I plug my mp3 player using the AUX, it has a little bit of noise (very little high pitch noise). If I plug in my jump drive, the noise is gone. I think that it might have to do with the AUX cable. But, it works great with my jump drive. Actually, it's better to use jump drive cause I don't have to turn off my mp3 player and hide it in the glove box. I have not tried with a memory card yet. The sound quality is OK. My requirement is as long as it does not have those high pitch / white noise. One thing is it cannot navigate through folders. But, I can choose which song I want to listen to by punching the number on the remote. So, it's not so bad. The FM transmitter remembers which song I was listenning to. So, I don't have to start over. It also remembers which radio station I was using. So, I don't have to re-find the radio station or re-find which songs I was listenning to. I think it's great for the price. I will buy it again. I think it's not a bad gift to give to friends. I like it.

Works Great - As Advertised,
By
This review is from: SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black) (Electronics)
This little thing works great. I have used it with a thumbdrive, a SD card and with a Mp3 Player. When using a thumbdrive or mp3 player, it works fine even if you have lots of other files that are not music, like documents and images. When using an MP3 player, the audio quality is still great.
The only problem I had was that the cord that comes with it to connect the mp3 player to the device did not work very well. When I first plugged it in, the audio quality was terrible, but when I twisted the cord around a bit, it went from mono to stereo and sounded great. Might just be that I got a faulty cord. The remote that comes with this one has a number pad on it, with numbers 0-9 and a button for 100 and 200. These allow you to skip through your songs by entering a number, which is great if you have allot of them. I have a 2 gig SD card I bought for it, and it holds hundreds of songs. The ordering of the songs is a little confusing. If you put your songs in folders, it will group the songs together that are in that folder. However, I dont know how it determines the order of the folders, or the order of the songs within them. This can make it a bit hard to find what song you want. Overall though, for the price you cant complain. The audio quality is amazing, better that radio and better that CD quality. There are lots of FM channels to choose from, so your always guaranteed to find an empty station in your area. I would defiantly buy it again.

Disappointed,
By DJ Nightmare (San Antonio, TX) - See all my reviews

I recieved this product on time but had many problems with it, the fuses that came with it kept burning out and I ended up spending more money on more fuses (which blew out too). I notified the seller by email that I returned it for a refund and never hear from the seller since then. Very disappointed.

Fuses Blow and Does Not Work with 8GB Kingmax Super Stick,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black) (Electronics)
I bought the 8GB Kingmax Super Stick because of it's super-tiny size. This unit did not work with my Super Stick. It kept saying "No MP3's Loaded" or something to that effect.
I read online that the possible answer for this is because drives with available security (which I was not aware that the Kingmax had, if at all...still not sure, as this is just the only explanation I could find online) have a little "mini" FAT12 "virtual floppy" drive in the very beginning of the drive, hardwired into it, that can "take over" and stop access to the drive if there is encryption enabled. The problem stated in the article I found was that a player like this will see the FAT12 part and ignore your (probably) FAT32 second section, saying "no MP3's." Once I determined that this was probably the case, the unit then proceeded to blow it's fuse. Then it blew it's second fuse. I did not do anything to it, even bend the elbow. It just started doing it. I really love the idea of this unit and was very excited to get it, but in reality it kind of let me down. I am sure it would work fine for anyone with a compatible drive, but just not mine. Too bad, the Kingmax Super Sticks are 100% awesome.

Do NOT buy it,
By Dennis (California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black) (Electronics)
I would not ever recommend buying this product from PRO EBIZ LLC store. Here's what's wrong:
1 - it does not recognize SD cards (tried 32MB, 128MB, 1GB SanDisk and Transcend). 2 - Remote control does not work. The battery inside looked like 10 year old (scratches, spots). 3 - The sound is of a very low quality 4 - The device is NOT NEW regardless they say it is when you purchase. The box was already open, plus device had millions of tiny scratches - you'd never face it with a new product.

Great Value, Works Well,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black) (Electronics)
I was skeptical about this wireless FM Transmitter, but it received mostly good reviews and I figured for <$12.00 I was willing to take a chance. I've only had it about a week, but it seems well built and durable. I've only used it with a SD 2 Gb card, but it has far exceeded my expectation. The sound is great and there are more functions than the nearly useless features sheet lists. The control buttons on the device are not the greatest, in that if you press them in the wrong position or for too long, they do unintended things. Like the Play/Pause button: press it on its lower edge too hard and it will change frequencies. The forward/back buttons, if pressed and held for a time will increase or decrease volume, which is an identified feature on the sheet. What the sheet does not tell you that by pressing and holding the pause button the unit will change from sequential playing of songs, as someone in an earlier review pointed out (a tiny A and a directional arrow in a small box at the top center of the display will show when in sequential mode), to random (=shuffle. with an R in the box and bidirectional arrows), to repeating the same song endlessly (with a S and an arrow making a loop). I get the intended result of shifting play modes by pressing and holding the top part of the button. There are also dedicated frequency-change buttons (higher, lower).
I imagine the over-sensitivity of buttons is due to the underlying switches--too many in too small an area. But for the price this is at most a very minor inconvenience. It doesn't take long to learn the proper touch. I have not used the remote except to test it. It seems sturdy and is very easy to use, and will eliminate any unintended changes from pressing the transmitters buttons in the wrong way. The LCD screen is small and for older people like me, the features display is so small that I have to hold it very close to read it. For young eyes this probably won't be a problem, and you can't expect everything in a small device like this. I like this unit so much that I'm ordering another for my wife's car. I use mine both in my vehicle and in my shop. I have a 12-volt multipower unit that will play this transmitter for days before draining the battery. I gave it only 4 stars because of the sensitivity of the buttons, the non-helpful features sheet (you couldn't call it an instruction sheet), and because I have used too short a time to determine it durability.

Never worked,
This review is from: SD/MMC/USB/MP3 Wireless In Car FM Transmitter with Remote (Black) (Electronics)
I figured for this price I could toss it if it didn't work and not feel too abused. Well, I was right about tossing it, but ended up upset at all the time I spent trying to get it to work.
I bought this for one purpose - to play mp3 files in my car directly from my usb drive, but all I got was a display saying "no files". The troubleshooting instructions didn't address, and after trying every combination of buttons, cleaning off my drive, trying different mp3 files, and several attempts to find a support contact, I finally let it go into the garbage. I suspect they will find a lot of these in landfills of the future...not a very eco-friendly company, I guess. |
