This is a superbly useful, updated version of his prior work on MMPI-2 interpretation. As always, Dr. Graham hits the bullseye for clinical usefulness and readability. His interpretive strategy is thorough and pragmatic. While others base their interpretative statements on clinical lore and antedotes, Dr. Graham backs up his interpretations with research. This text is a "must-have" for anyone who administers the MMPI-2--students and clinicians alike.

I have used this text for my graduate class I teach on the MMPI-2. It is an excellent text. Very comprehensive. My graduate students found it very helpful in learning to appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of the MMPI-2. Awareness of any tests strengths/limitations is crucial to the appropriate use of all psychological tests. Learning to appropriately utilize this test as part of a psychological screening or battery is critical for the training of all clinical psychologists. Graham does an excellent job of presenting the information in a readable and understandable format.

I am not a psychologist, and was not formally trained in the use of the MMPI-2, but my work brings me in contact with it very frequently. This book served as a perfect introduction to my self-study, and I refer to it frequently in trying to more fully understand the MMPI-2 interpretations provided by psychologists. I have searched for a comparable introductory text, and cannot find one nearly as good.

This book is the Bible of MMPI-2 interpretation. Dr. Graham does an amazing job presenting the information in an intelligent and understandable manner. There's a new chapter on the RC scales and the PSY-5 scales which will be incredibly important for people to learn about as these scales are going to be getting a lot of attention. The RC scales are the centerpiece of the new MMPI-2-RF, and the PSY-5 scales are on the new RF and involve individual difference personality trait theory. Plus, Graham includes cases and a interpretation strategies. Very helpful.

I agree with the other reviewers that Graham has produced an excellent reference, but add the caveat that there is little difference between the previous (third) edition and this volume to justify re-purchase.

I am a licensed psychologist who is currently taking a doctoral level course in Tests and Measurement. This book has been an invaluable resource in class and also in my practice. I use it to brush up on my psychometrics for my term paper and as a refresher when using it professionally with my clients. I had Graham's fiorst book, on the MMPI, but never bout this edition. I am happy to have this in my library.

Purchasing the 4th Edition of MMPI-2 Assessing Personality and Psychopathy textbook guide by John R. Graham has helped me greatly in understanding of my own personality profile. In my marital crisis counseling I took the MMPI-2 test, administered 11/03/2008. The 16 page report had comlexities that I wanted to further understand with the counselor. This clarification and greater understanding aided us in the counseling process, while at the same time has provided direction in taking the most appropriate corrective actions towards life changes; especially with my wife, famly, and friends...Aaron

This work is essential for students learning about the MMPI-2 and established clinicians. The book does an excellent job of interpreting the scales with an emphasis on diversity sensitivity. Further, it allows for easily interpreting the scales which increases the utility and longevity of the book in your clinical library!

This book explains every single detail of the MMPI-2: since its psychometric properites,how it was created and how to administer and score this test. It is written in a simple language, so everyone can understand it even if you're not majoring in psychology or related field. I highly recommend this book for all psychology levels: both undergraduate and graduate.

It is a great book on effectively using MMPI-2 to assess personality traits and psychological status. Recently there comes out MMPI-2 RF. I went to a workshop given by one of the two designers of the RF. Really impressive. Can't wait till the RF is popularized. --Jackie Jiang
