Product Description

Flavor: Organic Cocoa

Muscle builder formula is an unrefined (100% of the good stuff stays in) fusion of both casein (milk) and whey protein. Whey protein triggers new muscle formation. The casein (milk) protein inhibits lean muscle breakdown-a great-tasting source of 100% complete protein that's easy to digest. Made from whole organic goat's milk. You'll see measurable results the very first week. Ideal for bodybuilders, power athletes and anyone who wants to build muscle mass faster. Contains 20 amino acids, eight of which are essential (because your body does not produce them).

Note that in addition to being made from the milk of pasture fed goats without antibiotics or growth hormones and being processed without high heat, this protein is non-denatured and bio-active. I confirmed the non-denatured and bio-active part through an email exchange with the manufacturer, MMUSA, on 9/3/13. Those are important features per Dr. Mark Hyman when you're trying to build glutathione. It's also tasty in a smoothie and even good in plain unsweetened yogurt. This product is not available on a lot of sites so I usually buy it either here or at Vitacost.

Way to expensive. There are other options out there so do your research. Also, the scooper it comes with was actually half the size of the "serving size".

I was excited to try MMUSA’s newest line of protein powders, formulated from lacto-fermented goat milk to aid in digestibility and nutrient absorption. In addition to 15g high-quality protein per 21g scoop (about half the serving size of a typical protein powder scoop), GOAT contains probiotics and enzymes for easy assimilation. It’s also void of antibiotics or growth hormones and has not been processed harshly or at high heat temperatures.

MMUSA GOAT comes in three types: Perfect Protein Formula, Muscle Builder Formula, and Whole Body Formula. This review will cover the first two types.

I tried Vanilla Bean Perfect Protein Formula and Organic Cocoa Muscle Builder Formula. Both are subtly sweetened with stevia. If you are used to the typically sweetened protein powders, this will seem unsweetened and you’ll have to plus it up with an extra packet or half teaspoon of natural sweetener.

Mixability of this protein is so-so. The protein dissolves and mixes lump-free; however the drink tastes a bit gritty and sandy. It doesn’t simply dissolve into liquid like many protein powders do. This could be a trade off with quality of the protein and palatability.

I’m not exactly sure the difference between the formulas. Both have the same claims and ingredients, although the Vanilla Bean Protein contains slightly more fat (less than 1g) and 1g less carbohydrate.

My favorite things about this protein are the probiotics and the natural ingredients. The label reads: goat milk protein, organic vanilla bean powder, natural vanilla flavor, guar gum, xanthan gum, stevia. You can’t get much more natural than that for a powdered protein.

Great tasting protein shake and sits well with the digestion. I chose goat's milk because it is easy to digest. My husband has not had any of the gastrointestinal side effects he usually has with whey when I make his smoothies with this.

I prefer goat whey protein over cow whey protein. Goat whey protein is better than cow whey protein in the sense that if you compare the volume, goat has more nutrients. This product is derived from all natural grass-fed goats. (Grass-fed, RBGH free, no artificial ingredients should be the standard when buying good quality whey proteins cow or goat source)

PROS: superior product, taste good, mixes easy, price is OK. (could be a little lower because of the CON mentioned below)

CONS: ONLY 1, NO mention of whey to casein ratio. When it mentions Whey+Milk, I am sure they are referring to casein protein. I'm sure they carefully marketed this way because everyone knows casein (calcium caseinate or any casein derivative) is a cheap, low quality protein compared to whey. For this reason the price should be lower. It would be nice if it was really 100% pure whey protein concentrate. I spoke to the manufacturer. I am right about this. For this reason I will not give it 5 starts.

I have tried a LOT of proteins over the years.. whey, casein, egg, rice, pea, hemp and this has to be one of the most horrid tasting ones I have ever tried(cocoa flavor)

Only reason I give it two stars is i digest it fine as whey and casein give me problems but I surely will never buy this one again
